General Mulligans

These are the cards that you'd normally want except for Journey Below. Journey Below is one of those cards that you would keep in your hand if you absolutely have nothing else good in your hand and won't think you'll get anything good. If you are going first you should only keep either Southsea Deckhand or Swashburglar NOT both unless you truly want to. (I get better results not holding onto both). If you are going second you can hold onto both if you want. The reason for this is because this deck is NOT an aggro deck. Keep Jade Spirit only if you already have a one or two drop in your hand.

So far this deck has been a lot of fun. I’m currently rank 7 with this deck (started at 15). It was initially just for fun but it climbed a lot higher than I anticipated. I recommend to practice in casual for a bit to get a sense/taste of this deck first before going into ranked. But if you think you’ll be fine knock yourself out.

There are multiple substitution for this deck so I recommend reading all of it to see which cards fit your play-style.

and

These two cards are the ideal cards you want to get from Journey Below  if possible (usually high % of chance).

Southsea Deckhand  and Swashburglar  these two cards are basically for starting off the game to poke your opponent’s hp, and it helps thin the deck by summoning Patches the Pirate  as well which is also one of the main reason for having these two pirate cards.

This is the classic combo you’d want, if you can pull off Brann Bronzebeard with it too then that’s even better.

Shadowcaster to me this card doesn’t get enough love, it’s so amazing. Below are the possible synergy with this card that will allow you to boost your board or swarm your board with more jades.

You Shadowcaster into Cult Master for draws if you truly need it but it rarely happens for me.

End game (this rarely happens) you can Shadowcaster into N'Zoth, The Corruptor .

Unearthed Raptor  I think this card can explain for itself what you should combo it with. (Sometimes you may need to play it without triggering it’s effect if you need to play it for it’s 3/4 body)

Shadowstep this card may seem weird at first but it has actually helped me a lot due to it’s following synergy.

Shadowstep  and Jade Spirit  is amazing because after the first battlecry you can just immediately return it to your hand (if you think it’ll be killed) and next turn play it for 2mana and summon x/x jade golem. This will also ensure your board always has some minions on it for the next synergy.

This synergy has saved me unbelievably amount of time from pirate warriors, by playing this you basically get a 2mana 2/3 with 2 taunt minions +1/1 (assuming you have 2 minions -which you usually do, but even getting 1 taunt against pirate warrior is amazing).

N'Zoth, The Corruptor  this card speaks for itself has well you don’t need to be greedy with this card, if you can summon at least 1(I usually get 2-3) Jade Swarmer and maybe 1 Aya Blackpaw just do it. Because the jade counter by now should be high enough that those Jade Swarmer will probably turn into AT LEAST 7/7 or higher jade golems.

Now for possible addition/substitution to this deck.

Fan of Knives  and Cold Blood  can be added into the deck by replacing Shadowstep with it or anything else you desire.

N'Zoth, The Corruptor if this card your type of card or if it isn’t good enough for you – you can replace it with Edwin VanCleef to give this deck a more aggressive start due to the possible synergy with low cost cards and Shadowstep.

You can also remove Cult Master or 1 Defender of Argus for something else that you’d like.

If you don’t like Southsea Deckhand (I do not recommend replacing this due to Patches the Pirate ) you can replace it with another one drop such as Mistress of Mixture for a more control start against pirate warriors.

Cult Master  can be replaced with Acolyte of Pain  (I usually prefer cult master since I’m often trading my early game jades and pirates with the opponent’s pirate/jades)

Possible substitution for Shadowcaster  is Lotus Agent  for more jade cards or board clears from shaman.  You can also add a second Cult Master.

As I’m still climbing with this deck I’ll see how far I can go and make any adjustments/edits If I find any necessary. If you guys have any questions on how to play this deck feel free to comment below. Also if I miss anything in this guide let me know as well.

I think the main issue here is that deck won’t exist in standard. There are league of explorer cards in this deck that will be rotating out when Un’goro drops. This deck is for wild NOT standard.

Hello simeplminded, that isn’t actually the issue (until Thursday). I used this deck in standards (and on the top it’s tagged as standards) and climbed to rank 5 with it. (I haven’t updated since I posted the deck however – but in terms of the list nothing has changed). This is not a concept deck, it’s an actual ladder climbing deck for the previous month. If you are referring to the upcoming update – then yes it would be an issue. But this was posted last month. Thanks for the comment!

This is almost verbatim (except N’Zoth) that Dog was playing on stream a few days ago. He copied it from some guy on twitter…He called the Deck some guy on twitter.

It is a lot of fun and a pretty cool deck.

Hello kr1xus7, I think verbatim is the wrong term cause that’s more related to literature sense (like word for word) but I’m not here to correct your vocabulary. Anyway thank for your comment. The theme is similar to other jade rogue but this play style is slightly different due to shadowstep and nzoth. It’s the same with other decks like jade shaman for example – every pro has a similar theme but add their own touch to it and so do other players as well. That doesn’t mean this deck is just a copy of a pro streamer. (I’m not trying to attack you, just giving an explanation) anyway I’m glad you are having fun with the deck cause that’s the initial plan for the deck (beginning of the summary I mentioned it’s original intention) have a good one.
