Mulligans

A new take on the popular zoo deck from Witchwood expansion featuring Zilliax, Doubling Imp, Soul Infusion and The Soularium (what a card!). This uses the same idea of controlling the board to then push damage to the face when possible. This should be faster paced than the previous version with the addition of Soul Infusion to draw and play 3 cards on the same turn….draw and play three cards! The insanity is real!

Pros:

  • Smashes through combo decks like paper, 9/10 times against combo this deck should win.
  • Against control, well, control doesn’t exist in the current meta (not really, very low amount of control decks) so no worries there. Even if playing against control this should still have the upper hand.
  • Tempo decks could possibly give the deck some trouble but being zoo this should be able to put minions on the board quickly and deal with any board presence.

Cons:

  • Aggro. Like all zoo decks aggro gives the most grief in destroying the face. The fact that there is the addition of The Soularium gives zoo an edge towards dealing with aggro to keep a board presence and therefore win, although this has to be drawn into.

Game Plan:

Flood the board, control enemy minions by control trading, win by hitting face with excess damage.

Things of note:

Watch for taunts….they hurt. Keep spell breaker for large taunt minions is possible. Use Soul Infusion only on Doubling Imp or Saronite Chain Gang if possible, unless you really need the tempo. Don’t worry too much about your face taking damage near the start, you’re getting board control and cycling through the deck to win ASAP, use the health as a resource (several minions heal your hero anyway). Mulligan only for Keleseth, everything else is straight forward.

Ideal Opening:

T1-Flame Imp, T2-Prince Keleseth, T3-Lightwarden followed by Voodoo Doctor face followed by Happy Ghoul (x1 or x2) followed by Soul Infusion on Doubling Imp or Saronite Chain Gang, T4-Buffed Doubling Imp plus 1 drop or buffed Saronite Chain Gang.

Happy gaming!
