Mulligans

General Mulligans

Pretty much like any Baku Paladin deck on this site you’ll want to mulligan for your 1 drops in all matchups. Due to the power of the upgraded Paladin hero power, the lack of two drops isn’t really missed. Look for your most optimal line of play generally being T1: 1 drop, T2: Hero Power, into T3: 3 drop weapon/minion or Hero Power plus another 1 drop.

Aggro Mulligans

Similar mulligans for aggro than in most matchups, for the exception that you can focus more on getting weapons and taunts to mitigate as much damage as possible. The goal in all aggressive matchups is pure survival and board control while keeping an eye on your health total as this deck this deck has no healing.

Control Mulligans

In Control matchups you can mulligan less aggressively for 1 drops although you still should keep them as applying early pressure is important for this deck to succeed. But, you can keep value cards like Divine Favor or Prince Liam. Even Level Up can be kept against very slow decks as the first activation of the spell will probably be the best one you get due to the amount of board clear effects you’re vulnerable to. Which is why I go by a general rule to try and not play any more than three minions on the board to deny as much (Hellfire, Duskbreaker, Flamestrike, and Psychic Scream) value as I can.

Fun Concept for a Baku Paladin deck utilizing Master Oakheart to create hilarious swing turns with minions in your deck or by pulling random legendaries created by Prince Liam. Al’akir the Windlord anyone? 🙂
