So i have been playing this budget list of even warlock, wich has been really fun to play, but also performed extremely well against most of the meta.
This deck has very good match up against most spam decks like for example paladin (both the odd and even versions), due to cards like defile and hellfire wich (if used at the right time) can almost win the early game and put you in a prime-position to enter mid-late game.
This build is probably also the most aggressive way to play even warlock, due to the fact of how the deck works. All their is needed to win with this build is summon big boys (like twilight drakes and mountain giants), heal back up so you don’ t die or auto lose against an agressive deck and attack for game. So many games with this deck are also stolen away from my opponent with cards like hellfire and lifedrinker, wich makes almost every single board +6 damage and really putting your opponent on a clock.
Many people when they see my build also ask me why i am for instance not running cards like doomsayer or rin. The reason for me not playing doomsayer is because doomsayer is ok in a good situation, but the absolute worse card in your hand in a bad situation (and even tho it is a budget deck from a budget player, i do own doomsayers but do not play them by choice). After I lost several games by having doomsayer in hand and losing, i decided to try and play without and i have never looked back since. The same kinda goes for rin, although rin is much better in a bad situation, i have never experienced a rin saving or winning me the game. You either kill your opponent fast enought that rin just does not matter, or you are in trouble and would not have won the game anyway. And you almost never summon the last seal, almost every seal gets stuck in your hand and there is just way better cards to play at that point. At the point were you can finally summon the last seal, you either killed your opponent, or your opponent killed you.
A change i would like to add in the future is maby cutting sacrificial pact and play siphon soul. Even though i think runnig the sacrificial pact almost auto wins the mirror match (both zoo lock and the even mirror), siphon soul I feel like is more diverse and can save you allot of games outside of the mirror. I always would prefer pact over siphon in the mirror, in fact all of my mirror match opponents lost because of siphon soul, but I don’ t think even warlock is the best deck. Therefore my next list would probably run a siphon soul.
Have fun playing,
Lucas
