Paladin

Hi Guys, this is my first time doing a guide on a custom-made deck. If you have any questions regarding the deck, feel free to comment down below. Thank you.

(I will be updating This Page on a weekly basis. Feel free to comment on what I should add.)

This is a budget Baku Paladin decklist for the Boomsday Project.

This deck aims to create a big board early on in the game so that by mid-game, the player should be dominating, and eventually win. If you haven’t won by turn 8, do not worry, as this deck also has stormwind champion, which buffs all your minions by 1/1. Some of you may realise that there is no ‘Level Up’ in this deck. This is because the deck is mostly based around the mech theme, so ‘Level Up’ is not required.

Matchups:

Druid (Malygos): This deck thrives against Malygos druid, as it is a slow paced deck. As long as you keep creating a Strong Board, the opponent won’t have a chance to play their trump card.

Druid (Token): If you are able to start the game out strong, then it is likely that you will be able to contest against their treants. Token Druids normally start off the game with a Fire Fly, which is a 1/2. This deck struggles against Token Druid, as the deck doesn’t do too well against aggro decks. One of the biggest flaws is that it will be hard clearing the 1/1’s from Whispering Woods.

Early Game – Mid Game:

In the first 5 turns, aim to create a deadly board that can trade and deal with anything the opponent puts down. But this is easier said than done. This deck struggles against other aggro/tempo decks if not played properly, such as Zoo Warlock, Even Shaman, Odd Paladin, Even Paladin, Odd Hunter, Odd Rogue and Tempo Mage. Although this might make the deck look bad, it can easily overcome the struggle if you are able to develop a strong board.

Mid Game – Late Game:

It is uncommon that games would last past turn 20 unless you are extremely unlucky or your opponent has answers for your board all the time. For late game, you should aim to get a stormwind champion and have a Vinecleaver equipped, and even have Baku on the board. Cobalt Scalebane and Fungalmancer can help out during the mid to late game period, as it buffs your minions, making them stronger and harder to clear.

Great guide and deck, lots of people have been asking for budget Odd Pally guides, happy you could write one. Only criticism is that there are a lot of single copies in the deck, and I think it is better to commit to a certain card rather than including only one (especially when they are solid cards, e.g. Tar Creeper, Stonehill, Fledgling, etc). Would recommend cutting a Farseer and maybe a Vinecleaver to add cards like that in. Once again, guide is very well done and is appreciated! You gained my +1.
