General Mulligans

Alleycat - simple, synergizes with hyena.

Hyena - keep ONLY IF YOU HAVE A 1 DROP.

Traps - No need to explain really, BUT they give you tempo early game, especially if the rest of your hand is shit.

Bow - Versatile face and minion smacking badass weapon.

Companion - DUH. OF course we want companion turn 3. (BTW - the 6 mana spell summon 2 is SHIT, SHIT SHIT SHIT. SHIT. Honestly, SHIT. Like a worse version of animal companion (animal companion is GREAT BTW), cause what if you have a minion. OH 6 mana 1 companion, well buddy I can do that for 3.

- Unleash, (KEEP AGAINST AGGRO), only keep if aggro matchup or have hyena or excellent hand. Great versatility and control in early game.

- Rexxar (KEEP) (Why - you may not draw him later and he is one of the only expensive cards in the deck, you can draw other aggro cards with ease) (KEEP AGAINST CONTROL - ALWAYS WITHOUT QUESTION)

This is the perfect aggro midrange control deck. It combines the best elements hunter has from all of these elements.

The secret hunter elements along with cards such as razormaw and hyena kick ass. Further more 3 drops are solid with the traditional bow, companion, hounds.

Note that we don’t use kill command (SKILL command), because we don’t need it when we have flanking strike, and it’s a little too aggro for our midrange deck. Flanking strike gives us removal and a minion for a very affordable cost.

In the late game, our finishers (if we need them) will be rexxar, longbow and krush. Krush doesn’t need explaining. Just boom, face. Longbow can control the board and smack the face for 10 damage. NOTE THE INVULNERABILITY ASPECT OF ATTACKING. This is very valuable when playing against control decks. Rexxar is A MUST for control and the lategame. Half of my games go to the lategame, but with the right draw, you CAN BEAT DEMONLOCK, MURLOC PALADIN, AND MOST CONTROL DECKS, BUT NOT WARRIOR.

Strong matchups: Paladin, Hunter, Mage, Priest, Shaman, Warlock (control or not)

Weak matchups: Druid, Warrior, Rogue (depending on the deck type we could get screwed pretty badly)

As expected, I have an 80% winrate. It’s not impossible to lose to aggro, just as it’s not impossible to beat control warrior.

CARD CHOICES! (IMPORTANT)

– Unleash the hounds – more important than skill command, because it gives us versatility, the ability to counter any aggro threat while buffing the hyena (see screenshot for the lols)

– Venomstrike Trap over Snake Trap – Get more bang for your buck, when your opponent overstates his hand and board and leaves a huge minion out PUNISH SEVERELY. Most of the time should read “DESTROY A REALLY BIG THREAT AS REVENGE FOR YOUR OPPONENT’S STUPIDITY”,

– Flanking Strike over Skill Command: Less versatility, but better control, sure, you could hit face with command for 5 and even without it, it matches on 3 damage. But if you need to control the board and use skill command to do so, you aren’t getting the best deal. Flanking Strike is good for aggro and control matchups.

Epic and Legendary card choices: All essentials if you want to win. Otherwise, you have a 50% winrate. REALLY. EVERY. CARD. COUNTS.

Card Replacements (Keep in mind your winrate could drop considerably from 80% to 50%)

– Snake for venomstrike, bad choice IMO, but ok.

– (S)kill command for unleash, VERY BAD CHOICE, but could be worse.

– (S)kill command for flanking, bad tactical choice, but ok.

– Rexxar (NO REPLACEMENT)

– Longbow (Any other hunter weapon or a skill command)

– Krush (NO REPLACEMENT)

– Secrets (VERSATILE – BUT, Freezing and Explosive must be in there. Cat Trick is invaluable. Snipe is filler but actually does GOOD WORK a lot of the time).

– 1 drops are flexible, but try to have a 1 drop on the board for turn 2 in case you get hyena. Same with having hyena and then unleash against aggro (see image).

Any questions, feel free to ask. This deck is a lot of fun, finally hunter has the midrange balance it needs to thrive in the early game and survive the late game.

I should mention, this DECK REQUIRES SKILL TO PLAY.

I will say this: You really don’t need call of the wild or those ridiculous epic spells. They mostly aren’t that worth it. And really, eh. Call could sub for Krush BUT WOULD NOT BE A GREAT CHOICE. Nothing can ever fully replace that except charged devilsaur and maybe call of the wild as B grade (not A) subs.
