Is there a replacement for alexstraza

If you see Alexstrasza in a deck, there’s probably no good replacement. You can play this deck without Alex too, but if that’s the case, then I would consider taking out some of the burn to try and outvalue your opponent with Medivh.

I tried both version of this deck, first with DamianDark’s changes. At Rank 10, no stars, I went 2-7 in 9 games, against 5 different classes.

I tried the original version, went 4-5 in 9 games. Slightly better, but each time I died is because I cannot control the board, not enough AOE. I died 7 times the way single way: Overwhelmed by minions.

Each game I won was at the brink of death, lucky 2 times with the right card being drawn on my turn.

I tried being agressive, but was overwhelmed later. I tried to be patient, but was overwhelmed just the same.

From what I understand is that this deck is for higher ranks, not for 10 or lower, as the opponents you face from Rank 5 to Legend are different than those Rank 10 and lower face.

Maybe you don’t get enough value from your removal? Maybe mulligan mistakes? Also, small sample… maybe just bad luck? I don’t think u should get that bad winrate. Also, some players (like me, and probably you) need a bunch of games to get better at playing a deck. This one is not the hardest deck ever, but it’s also not pirate warrior, u know…

Got legend with this deck from 4 rank in 6-8hrs so idk what u talking about maybe u r right and meta is really different in lower ranks but still i went 30/7 or something like that and also i dont think this deck is hard imo is pretty easy i would say it s easier that last season aggro shaman.

Just got legend for the first time with this deck :DD

I made a couple of changes, though:
    – 2 kabal courier x 2 acolyte of pain (couriers are crazy sometimes, and shit others. Alcolytes are more reliable. Also most of the times they give you 2 cards, not 1).
    – 1 babbling book x 1 volcanic potion (tech against murlocs, beasts, and living mana thingies. MVP a lot of the times in those matchups).

Just hit legend with this deck yesterday with 100% winrate from rank1 1 star. Very nice deck, takes skill to play and good against the meta.

    Why Gluttonous ooze over Harrison?

    • Sandrock

You can try Harrison but since msog he’s been to slow. Gluttonous is 3 mana, 3/3 and you gain armor from destroying the weapon. So 3-4 armor for 1 extra mana than an acidic ooze. If you can’t craft it yet or haven’t opened one, use acidic. It’s what I do and it seems to work

Any ideas on replacement for meteor? I was thinking of blizzard to keep the card slot for Atiesh combo but the effect is rather different.

I replaced it with Blizzard and had pretty solid outcomes. It´s especially good vs Pirate and Murloc aggro, when you can slow them down and prepate a winning Flamestrike.

      🙂

At first i`ve lost 2 games at rank 5 with this deck and almost abandoned it, but then I won 7 times in the row and I`m still going !

No free from amber? The combo potential with Medivh is just too sweet to pass up.

Always keep: Arcanologist, Mana Wyrm, Medivh’s Valet

Sometimes keep/ keep 1 of: Babbling Book, Frost Bolt, Primordial Glyph

If you know for SURE it’s control, you can think about keeping Medivh or Alex. But only if you know for sure.

        April 24, 2017 at 10:00 am

I only keep Valet if i already have an Arcanologist. I keep Frost bolt if going second, or I already have a Mana Wyrm. I keep Glyph if going 2nd + having wyrm. I keep babbling book only if i don’t have the wyrm.

Also, keeping medivh or alex seems too risky. You have to know that the guy you are playing against plays control (like 2nd game against the same palyer) and that he doesn’t play dirty rats.

        My 2 cents.

        Good day.

Dude, you´re doing it wrong. This Deck is great right now.

I can 100% agree with what McQuack is saying. FINALLY a Control Deck worth facing the Meta. I won my first 5 Games with it (rank 3-4), even against Taunt Warrior, with quite some Luck I have to agree.

Interesstingly I never won with or because of Medivh – I´m not even sure if he is needed at all.

This deck is so solid. I’ve been laddering casually this season and hovering around Rank 7, then picked up this deck and streaked to 2 very easily. Great combo of answers for all kinds of things, it feels like you only lose to absolute nut draws.
