Anyone with a brain and a budget agro deck will destroy this deck. I’ll suggest some changes at some point.

Personally wasn’t a fan of the AAs, so I changed them to babbling books. Either giving me late game cards to use to further damage, or low cost cards to remove minions. It also adds a bit of randomness that makes it harder for the enemy to plan ahead.

Good deck against Aggro avalanche. I replace 2 arcane tyrant by 2 doomsayer. Funny is the factor surprise. The most think that is a secrect mage and they fill the board.

I have played this deck quite a bit. Aggro is the main concern. Paladin is just fast. Midrange decks are tough because of the consistent threats.

One of the best matchups for this deck is Anduin priest. The key is to draw Frost Lich and retain your elementals. Wait the game out.

Once they drop Anduin. Then you fire off with blazecaller, servant, Alex for self heal and use artificer effectively. Keep the elemental chain running and it’s very tough to burn you down.

I agree with earlier comment, pretty successful against aggro but not as much against control. Is Medivh for one of the servants better for value?

This deck has no chance against aggro which is pretty much every deck out there

Everyone and there grandma are complaining about raza priest and control lock and here you are talking about aggro. well to be fair, once you stabilize against aggro decks you’re pretty much in the clear. dragons fury is a big help to that. once you reach the golden level of 5+ then you can stabalise from there, use ice block then heal up with jaina or arcane artificer

Actually this deck does really well against Aggro and loses to Control Warlock and Control Priest.

Alex is a major driver of win rate in this deck. Geddon or Dragoncaller are other options to slot in, but nothing really replaces Alex. Budget options could be Flamestrike and Tar Creeper.

Don’t love servant of kalimos in this deck. Dragoncaller and Medivh have crazy synergy in this deck and I usually find myself trying to get the board clear on turn 5. Not playing a minion.

Servant of Kalimos actually is very nice in this deck. The deck plays different than a pure Big Spells Control Mage. Against other Control decks you often have the initiative by refilling the board with elementals. SInce Mage has some really good Elementals, SoK often shows you nice additions to your hand.

In his videos he mentions how important alex is. So I doubt there’s a replacement other than just something else you can do with a deck like this. Like stick another polymorph in to be better against warlock or something.

You should really just craft alex. cant replace, especially in this kind of mage

yeah, with out a power card like that this deck type is unplayable.

Definitely not unplayable without Alex. You can drop the Alex + Pryoblast package for Medivh and Dragoncaller for a ton of late game value. You also don’t need the elemental synergy if you want another acolyte, creeper, and Kabal courier. Not saying it’s better than this version, but definitely good and viable.
