There’s been a lot of fine tuning on Midrange Hunter, and some of the pros are feeling like this is the best list so far. Both Jab and Orange are using this list with minor alterations. Fluffy peaked at Legend rank 6 with it, so maybe we’ll start to see Hunter make its triumphant return to the meta!

What do you think about replacing Stranglethorn Tiger with Leeroy Jenkins?

Not a bad idea, but Stranglethorn Tiger is about guaranteeing a minion on board that can either trade, go face, or receive a Houndmaster buff. Leeroy Jenkins is a finisher, so they don’t really fill the same roles.

No Carrion Grub?! You could double up the Flame Juggler.

    Nice deck!
I would like to include at least one Rhino, what would you replace in order to keep the curve?

You could go River Crocolisk or second Flame Juggler and Carrion Grub.

THis deck is terrible in the meta. 1-10 and I’ve played a lot of midrange hunter. Only win was against a miracle rogue on a bad draw. Runs out of gas against control and gets out tempo-ed by aggro.

People who lose with this deck are noobs and probably trying to face hunter with it.

This deck has one of the most powerful curves in the game right now. Firebat-Toad-Animal Companion is ridiculous start. Your opponent either drops minions which you kill, or wastes removals on your small drops. Its all about playing the curve on this deck. Since its midrange with no draw power you need to make smart choices(must for hard for some players). You need to control the board until you hit 6 mana. Then stranglethorn-Highmane-Call of the wild wins most games if you have the hand.

      Key Cards:
Stanglethorn-1000x better than princess huharan. It can survive until you drop call of the wild, or trade with sylvanas drop or guarantee 5 face dmg. Its the best 5 mana drop for hunters right now. Infested Wolf and Highmane are high priority targets. You rarely get to use huharan correctly, and she ends up just wasting space in your hand.

Carrion Worm- 2/5 on turn three sounds slow, but current meta has everyone playing strong 2 drops. This card can easily survive a turn early and start clearing the board. Plus with a hound master on turn 4, thats a 4/7 taunt and a 4/3 that your opponent has only 4 mana to deal with.

Firebat/toad/flamejuggler- Increases your opponents salt meter as you punish his early start

      Deadlyshot- Deals with Auctioneer/Flamewreathed

Stampeding Kodo – Deals with bloodhoof/doomsayer

Quickshot – not a draw card. It is a dark bomb with an added bonus. Its used to control the board. Use it early!

Know your cards, know the meta, and you can ride this 2100 dust deck to legend!

I think I would feel safer with 2 kodos. I’m going to try it with one and see how it goes.

Great list — I was hitting a ton of Shamans, so -1 King’s Elekk, and +1 acidic swamp ooze… Works great.

Nothing that I can think of, it’s a pretty important card in the late game.

Finally, a solid hunter deck in standard.
