How Twist MMR Will be Calculated Going Into First Official Season

I sent a message top legend deck on twitter stonekeep (mech rogue from vifzor) don’t forget to add it to website! 🙂

From the Scrapheap

This card gives you value, options, and surprise factor. All the sparkbots are great except the taunt one i’d say. It is pretty weak on his own without the reborn/ divine shield sparkbots as a 5 mana 3/3 won’t do much. It’s pretty safe to say this only belong in a rogue mech decks. but it could be some kind of combo enabler for other deck and maybe part of miracle with Mimiron also?

It’s also nice to have rogue getting access to lifesteal.

Considering the strong mech package incoming, i’d say this card is pretty solid and promote an explosive playstyle (spending some mana, forging cards first, and performing a huge turn)

Also works well will lab constructor, especially the divine shield, reborn and stealth sparkbot

Lab Constructor

This card is very interesting. Double 3/2 for 4 mana isn’t great at all. But we have some snowballing effect here.

When forged, this card becomes insane. The issue is to know if you can forge the card and have something sticking on the board while paying 2 mana early on to forge it. It does seem hard to make that happen.

I also like the idea to play the 3/4 stealth with this, but I’m afraid that card alone is too weak to mandate a slot in a mech deck as the lab constructor is the only great magnetize card.

I think this card is great with the 1/1 divine shield mech because the lab constructor benefit twice from the +1/+1 buff and also because if forged before, it can give you 2 divine shield 5/5 on turn 5.

This card is excellent because it’s a high priority target and as you said can be magnetized further if if one of the two copy survived the turn when it’s played!

I want to say 5 stars also because I’m a rogue lover!

Pit Stop

I’m surprised by the high ratings of this card. Paying 2 mana to get only a single card is expensive. The +2/+1 buff doesn’t make it worth in my opinion. +1 /+2 would have been better.

The upside of this card is that there is 3 strong mech available to rogue now (the titan, Mimiron and the lab constructor) so in the end it might be worth it but paying 2 mana for 1 card only is too expensive. Especially for a deck based on the board.

On the other hand you can create some crazy synergies with Lab constructors and the rogue legendary mech minions, and the lab constructor benefit well from this buff since it summon a copy from himself. Prep also can help this card being relevant. I do think it should have discovered a copy from the card, to make it slightly better.

Probably won’t see play. 2 stars.

Mimiron, the Mastermind

When analyzing this card, you need to check other 1 mana mech minion available. We do have 3 decent 1 drop mech in standard (including 1 that generate another 1 mana mech) and another rogue spell who generates three 1 mana mechs. This means that this card will be able to generate several pieces on turn 4~6 pretty often.

When you look at the pieces, the quality is pretty high. I like the pre nerf innervate, that allow you to generate 1 extra piece the turn you get it. The swap and the sap are extremely threatening for opponents who would to drop big minions. Additionally, the horn and stealth will help keeping your mimiron alive. Finally 1 mana deal 3 damage is rarely a bad card to get.

I do also like the statline. Allowing you to play this on 3 mana with a chance of it surviving on a empty board vs most class or requiring 2 cards from them to remove it. Although you would want to hold it for turn 4 or 5 at least most of the time to be sure to generate some sweet value and increase your range of options, making your opponent wary of a certain play style.

Very strong card, we need to see if mech rogues is strong. I’m not sure however if this can played outside of mech rogue like some other players suggested it.

Coppertail Snoop

This card is hard to judge. a 4/3 body for 3 mana isn’t good at all. If you can consistently have a mech to magnetize it and get the coin, this become much stronger.

But it suffer from the conditional issue to have a minion on board ready to attack.

The upside of this card, is that it has the snowball potential by making a huge unanswered mech early on that allows you to keep gaining coins and fly to victory.

It does remind of this 2 mana 2/2 card from early expansion that would generate a coin everytime it attacked. That card was below average but kind of playable. I searched and it’s cutpurse and it also required to attack enemy hero. So this card is much better considering it can magnetize and can also gain coin by attacking enemy minion.

Overall considering mech package, I would say this card is decent and will see play in mech rogue.

3 stars.

Kaja'mite Creation

Very strong card. a 3/2 body that can apply pressure early on and give you card advantage is not to be dismissed.

It is similar to nefarian tooth except that the requirement is easier to fulfill and that the pool of spell is limited. Keep in mind that most spell are 3 mana or less so the pool limitation doesn’t make a big difference. (you actually often ended up discovering 3 cheap options with tooth.) Having a 3/2 body is most of time better than dealing 3 damage but it will depend on the situation.

4 stars.

Tar Slick

This card is pretty poor because it already takes a card slot on his own for a removal and it needs other cards or minions to be effective.

Maybe this card can be good when discovered coupled to some (discovered) AOE.

Gear Shift

On contrary of what Jesse Alexander said, that card is extremely strong.
Especially if that card can be played with no or less than 2 other cards in hand. This can potentially be draw 3 cards for 1 mana if this is your only card in hand or if you play the rest of your hand before this!

In addition, getting rid of the 2 left-most cards in your hand allow you to play higher mana cost cards (hello hooktusk) or more situational cards as they can get reshuffled in your deck. You can see it as double tradable for 0 mana + draw 1 card which is strong. This card also allow on draw effect (like the 4/5 taunt dragon that adds a dragon to your hand everytime you draw him) to be drawn multiple time.

I would guess this card will be staple in any kind of rogue decks, except ones that require you to keep a certain card or combo piece through the game.

5 stars and a well designed card to respect the balance with hand size compared to other classes.

This card is extremely strong, it’s the ability to bank out on T2 2 mana that you will use later in a swing turn. It’s also a nice little body

Pirate Admiral Hooktusk

Ho yeah this card is bonker. The pay-off is game winning. Finally also another reason to play the 5 mana invoke 2 pirates. This set is looking good so far!!

Lady S'theno

Excellent analysis. Thank you.
I may add that you are probably are DH main and are getting hyped for the card^^ so it’s just 3 star for me.

Azsharan Defector

5/3 rush for 4 mana is pretty poor. even at 3 mana I’m not sure people would play that.

5/3 charge and deal 5 damage is no joke. If not cleared it will deal 5 damage again!
But in order to this make work we need a good dredge card.

Overall this card seems pretty weak because the payoff isn’t that strong and slow.

Commander Sivara

This card is extremely strong in term of value. We just need to see how hard the requirement is. Just keep in mind it can go pretty fast with first and second flame and another cheap spell.

Piranha Poacher

There will surely be murloc beast synergies! Murloc on their own aren’t that strong but once we get great pay-off cards, this card just instantly become good!

Raj Naz'jan

This card is really good and cheap.

Blackwater Behemoth

This card will be good against aggro if you can manage to survive , + 8 hp and remove a threat would be game ending.

Against control, this would be pretty good also if you consider you make a 2 for 1 if opponent leave a minion on the board.

However this card isn’t extremely strong or game-breaking, but the power level is good enough right after rotation.

Seafloor Savior

This card is actually pretty good. in an aggro deck you will get to chose your next draw and give it +2/+2
It also work well with the 2/1 that handbuff. Preferably play little minions to get the most tempo out of it!

Cutlass Courier

This card is great, draw on the turn you play it and instantly become a threat to remove. However 5 health is tricky to remove. Let’s see if rogue get decent pirate synergy, if it’s the case this is going to be played for sure.
