Yingdi's Interview with Iksar - Another Balance Update Planned Before Next Expansion, Some Hints at Possible Changes
What unplayable Mage? Highlander Mage is one of the better decks in the meta according to the stats (not as good as Tempo DH or Enrage Warrior, but still great).
And nerfs aren’t always about the current power level. Turn 6 Box is just not fun to play against no matter how strong the Mage is.
Best Hearthstone Decks - Standard Meta Tier List - Whizbang's Workshop (April 2024)
Yeah, those two classes have been by far the weakest this expansion. Every other class had at least one viable deck at any time. I also hope that Paladin & Shaman get some love in the next set ๐
Top Standard Legend Decks From Ashes of Outland - Week 12 - June 2020
Priest isn’t even dominating right now – it just happened that this specific week we had a lot of Priests in High Legend. The week before we had like 3-4 Priest decks featured. The week before that – 2. One of the main reasons is that Bomb Warrior is pretty popular in high Legend too, because it counters Tempo Demon Hunter, and Galakrond Priest is the best counter for Bomb Warrior. It’s a rock-paper-scissors situation in a pocket meta. In reality, over the last week, the deck has 5-10% popularity depending on the rank. If you really play against it every second game, then you’re incredibly unlucky.
The deck is still low Tier 2. Decks like Tempo Demon Hunter, Enrage Warrior, Bomb Warrior, Highlander Hunter or Spell Druid are all better. Highlander Mage & Galakrond Rogue are probably on a similar power level. I wouldn’t really call that “dominating”.
I get it, Priest is not fun to play against, but lots of players have turned the class into some sort of boogeyman for the last few expansions, where in reality it was usually sitting comfortably in T2-T3 and not dominating at all. And the low rank comments usually refer to Resurrect Priest in particular, which was a terrible deck at high ranks and very popular + strong at low ranks. Galakrond Priest is kind of the opposite – it’s a much more difficult deck to play correctly than the Resurrect variant, and it doesn’t counter Aggro so well, so it was never an amazing deck at low ranks (and gets better at higher ranks).
Descent of Dragons Wallpapers - Desktop & Mobile Versions, High Quality (Full HD)
Hahah, definitely not the only one. I remember a lot of people talking about it when DoD came out.
But the weirdest Dragons arms have to be original Ysera’s (https://gamepedia.cursecdn.com/hearthstone_gamepedia/c/c6/Ysera_full.jpg) – people memed the hell out of those arms back in the day.
Interview with Hearthstone Game Designer Chadd "Celestalon" Nervig โ Trial by Felfire, Initial Card Design, and The Lore of Murgur!
Sorry that you feel that way, I think that it’s interesting.
What questions would you want to ask?
I Am Not Prepared: The Diary of My Race to 1000 Demon Hunter Wins (Week 11)
I definitely agree that they wanted Demon Hunter to be stronger than other classes at the release. And I don’t even mind that – it’s a new class, it should be in the spotlight. If it was released with the current power level it would all be good (it’s still Tier 1, but it’s not completely over the top).
I think that they need more great deck builders to test things internally. The thing is, if you build a Big Demon Hunter or Token Demon Hunter, some of the synergies that were available, the class isn’t very strong. You can even build an Aggro/Tempo version in a way that will make it good, but not crazy powerful.
Because I just can’t believe that they playtested it correctly, knew how broken it is and still decided to release its Day 1 version (and then nerf it in 24 hours). Similar thing to Galakrond Shaman in DoD. I remember one of the devs (I think it was Iksar but I’m not 100% sure) saying that they tested it internally and it wasn’t that powerful, because they played a different (probably bad) build. And I kind of get it – deck building is not easy, I’m not a great deck builder myself despite hitting Legend easily every month, if I was responsible for playtesting I would most likely miss a lot of great decks.
Trial by Felfire Challenges are Out! Get a Golden Kael'Thas Sunstrider For Beating Them
Some people have already finished and confirmed that you can’t disenchant it.
Tavern Brawl - The Outlandish Burndown
Sounds really strong! But I’ve read about a Druid deck with 3 damage or 3 healing Hero Power with a passive that makes it cost 0 and lets you play it twice a turn. Yikes. 6 damage or 6 healing every turn. Free Fireball every turn from Turn 1 ๐
17.4.2 Server Hotfix - Felfire Festival Quest & Battlegrounds Bug Fixes
I’m pretty sure they didn’t do it out of spite. The issue was most likely harder to fix than they thought, so they’ve decided to put a band-aid on it now and then release an actual fix later.
And you don’t need to replay the entire adventure – just the final fight of Chapter 1, FWIW. Yeah, it would be better if it was just awarded like they’ve said before, but what can you do.
Sorry to hear that you hate adventures, though ๐ I found this one really fun, at least as one time experience.
I Am Not Prepared: The Diary of My Race to 1000 Demon Hunter Wins (Week 11)
He didn’t say that the nerf wasn’t deserved or that he disagrees with them. He said that the situation itself is silly. And that’s absolutely true. That a class has been nerfed in 4 different patches and it’s still at the top (not to mention that the Twin Slice nerf also turned out to be a buff for Odd DH in Wild). That’s ridiculous, it never happened in the history of Hearthstone. One or – in rare cases – two nerf patches were always enough to bring the class back in line.
I usually defend devs, but this time they just didn’t do their job properly – Demon Hunter playtesting went wrong at one point, they should never release a class that overpowered. I’m still happy that we got Demon Hunter and I hope that we’ll see more classes in the future, but it left a bad taste and next time people might not be as hyped, thinking that “the new class is going to break the game again”.

If anything, Demon Hunter and Warrior are overtuned. Neither Rogue or Priest is particularly powerful now (Galakrond builds for both classes are good, but not TIer 1).

But what I meant is that every class is at least playable (well… Shaman is doing very poorly, but you could say that it’s PLAYABLE) and the best decks aren’t uncounterable and don’t have insane win rates (they’re comparable to the usual T1 decks we have every expansion).
Top Standard Legend Decks From Ashes of Outland - Week 11 - June 2020
New expansion should come out in ~1.5 months, so I can imagine that there will be no more balance updates. It’s honestly not a bad time to take a break and come back when it’s out ๐ It’s better to take a break than to get burned out of the game!
Playing Adventure Before Legendary Quest Bug - A Fix is Coming Soon! (Update: Early Next Week)
Yeah, I agree, I wish that they could do it earlier, because i have the same problem. But at least we know that it won’t take another week or something.
Hearthstone's Ranked Mode Overhaul Two Months In: How Good Is It?
It means that your rank doesn’t matter for the matchmaking. You’re matched only based on hidden MMR – your rank is just to illustrate your progress. That’s also why you don’t see your opponent’s rank before you hit Legend – it would be pointless, because you can be in Bronze and get matched against someone in Diamond, because you have similar hidden MMR.
Trial by Felfire Story Adventure is now live!
Devs have confirmed the issue with Quest and said that they’re working on a fix.

When you shut the game and quickly relog, you get reconnected straight back to Bob’s Tavern and not into the combat (which is already determined). And since everyone starts combat at the same time, you have some more time for buying / selling stuff.

What do you mean by “little mess”? You’re talking about Hero placement or something else?
We wanted to get out a quick update – we’ll do another one after Aranna Starseeker gets released and the meta has more time to stabilize.
Sorry, but I didn’t understand some parts of your comment.
I don’t have class preference, I play whatever is fun and/or good at the moment.
Demon Hunter and Warrior are both better than Mage right now and I’m not denying that. I’m just saying that Highlander Mage is a good deck (here are the stats if you don’t believe my words: https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/vs-data-reaper-report-167/). I’m not saying that it’s too strong, only that Puzzle Box on Turn 6 is not fun.
