The Samuro pushed this to a purchase for me. A guaranteed legendary I wanted, sure. I hit level 155 without the pass today, so with this pass I would have made the 20 packs for $20 benchmark.

So what I’m saying is: xp boost gets me $1 packs and I get a bonus (diamond) legendary. Cosmetics are all just things I get too. Yay!

I’m excited for all the new stuff coming to the game. I also wonder what the new player experience is going to be like? There are a lot of classic packs given out for those first quests. Surely they won’t be classic packs anymore, right? Latest expansion packs? Year of the Phoenix packs would be nice. So with the first level of the track rewards, new player deck, beginner rewards, and core set hopefully there is enough to get a new player competitive and able to complete quests for that sweet sweet gold.

Did they fix the bug where experience for playing any mode is too low?

Agreed. I’ll stop internet raging. I, also, will wait an expansion to see how this goes, but I won’t do it happily.

Right. I was going to buy the $40 bundle this expansion, my first pre order, but I waited to see what this rewards track was going to be. After seeing it, I’m not buying anything.

Just give us the gold ON TOP OF THE PACKS. What I don’t understand is why they insist on swapping something. The rewards track is too little. The xp gained is too little. And we can’t keep hearing “we’ll tweak dials,” “we’ll turn levers,” “there are events and rewards coming you haven’t heard of so can’t take into account.” If these events and rewards are so great, TELL US ABOUT THEM. The internet is in hysterics about this, and has been since it first heard about it. #doublethegold

And, new players, the Weapon Rogue deck is incredibly fun to play.

Thanks for the breakdown. If the quest system ever works (still broken for me) I’ll be in roughly the 6400 gold range for the next expansion. About what I’ve saved for this shortened expansion.

Great article, well written, and I agree. I earned enough to open 74 day 1 scholomance packs, and would really miss the mass opening. The game should be more rewarding, both for wins and through quests. I would enjoy an expanded quest system that would incentive me to play more than about 3 games to complete the quest and then be done. This whole battle pass situation… I get that they want to reward HEARTHSTONE across all game modes, but the risk is screwing this up will really sour almost all players.

My personal expectation: everyone should be able to put together a competitive deck or 2 per expansion for free. If you want all the cards you’ll have to pay some money. I’ll let the paying customers debate how much is too much. I know my budget, and I’m fine with not having everything. Good value for my time and money is important to my enjoyment of the game, which I like very much.

I completely agree. The disenchaning system is not good. Maybe there is a reason, but since we don’t know it we get to complain.

I think this is scary in rogue: seems like another way to get more kronx, edwins, even a questing adventurer copy of a copy of a copy of a copy. Whew.

Insightful, thank you. My initial thoughts about frazzled freshman and goody two-shields was they’ll get nerfed. Maybe freshman doesn’t see enough play to get one, but goody seems too good. Goody.
