General Mulligans

Again, if you think your opponent is playing a fast deck, keep a Doomsayer.  If you have the coin and two little deathrattle minions, I would keep a Twilight's Call or maybe even a Mirage Caller.

Weasel Priest Season 46

This deck is an absolute blast to play!  Is it competitive?  The simple answer is no, it should not be considered a Tier 1 deck.  However, with good draws, it can hang with the best decks on ladder.  I have taken it to rank 15, and its hanging in there right now at just under 50%.

So why play this deck?  Because its really fun, and I have had more concedes from opponents with this deck than I can count.  It frustrates your opponent and is deceptively powerful.

Mulligan

As with any deck, your starting hand is dependent on what your facing.  However, this deck is unusually easy to mulligan as your looking for certain cards against almost every match-up.  Keep any small deathrattle minions.  Loot Hoarder, Plated Beetle, Weasel Tunneler and Crystalline Oracle will allow you to fight for early board control and help complete the quest Awaken the Makers.  If I am playing any deck I suspect is going bring the rush I would also keep a Doomsayer.  Finally, with the coin, if you have two small deathrattle minions, I would also keep a Twilight’s Call.

General Strategy

Against rush decks, your going to need to survive long enough to complete the quest.  Once Amara arrives, you should be in a good position.  When playing slower decks, taking advantage of Crystalline Oracle and fill their deck with Weasel Tunneler’s is part of the plan.

At first blush, you may wonder what minions are the closers…  The answer is not so simple.  If I had to name them, it would be N’Zoth, The Corrupter and Shadowreaper Anduin.

Combinations

This deck is filled with combinations.  The big ones are Amara and Zola the Gorgon and Amara and Youthful Brewmaster.  In many games, Amara gets played twice if not three times.  N’Zoth and Youthful Brewmaster is another combination you should keep an eye out for, although it doesn’t happen as often as others.  The Carnivorous Cube and any of the smaller deathrattle minions is great.  Need cards, hit the Loot Hoarder, need some armor, Plated Beetle, need value go for Crystalline Oracle.  If you need to junk up your opponents hand, go with Weasel Tunneler.  Mirage Caller on a Carnivorous Cube is also great.  I could go on with combinations, but a few plays will help you find them and they are legion.

Card Substitutions and Alternatives

I have gone back and forth with several cards being in and out of the deck.  One Doomsayer and a board clear like Shadow Word: Horror.  I have also gone with and without the Shadow Word: Death.  Finally, Spiritsinger Umbra has rotated in and out of the lineup.  I believe the addition of these cards are all a matter of taste and each has its positives.

Closing

Thanks for checking out the deck, hope you enjoy it and I look forward to hearing what changes or strategies work best for you.
