Post Rotation Warlock

This is a build of Egg Warlock with only core cards and cards from the Year of the Raptor. Hence it may be played after rotation, provided that none of the included core cards are removed from next year’s core set.

The best way to reach 30 cards seems to be to include the Animancer + Elise package.

The biggest loss from last year is Eat! The! Imp!, which was the best card to use on one’s egg. The other losses from most standard lists are summoner darkmarrow, “Health” Drink, and table flip.

Breaking one’s egg 5 times will be more difficult, hence the inclusion of entropic continuity. An issue with entropic continuity is that the opponent often does not have a minion with 4+ attack. Another option is crazed alchemist.

The loss of table flip leaves a board-clear-sized hole in this list. The card also helped activate Elise. Gnomelia helps with both of these, although she is much more expensive. It would be perfect if warlock got a good board clear in the next set.

asphyxiodon could be swapped for meadowstrider. Meadowstrider makes the animancer more consistent. The current build often runs out of cards, so the recursive nature of Meadowstrider could be useful. However, with the loss of eat the imp I suspect that we will reach the bottom of our deck much slower.

Soularium isn’t always included when playing the elise + animancer package. The package build adds heavy cards, and drawing cards weakens the animancer by prematurely pulling targets out of one’s deck. I still think it is worth playing in this list. 

I think the weakest inclusions are entropic continuity, glacial shard, mortal coil, and gnomelia (who is need for elise). I believe the best option that currently sits on the sidelines is crazed alchemist. If there are fast aggro decks that will abuse our lack of board wipe, then we could add spelunker for the dream of t2 Spelunker, t3 cursed catacombs -> animancer. Of course spelunker can also bank mana for a soularium turn or fight when played on turn 2.

Overall, I think the deck has potential.
