Mulligans

So I’ve been thinking about the OTK Test subject combos and russellgoke introduced this one. It requires 9 mana, but its a doozy and its versatile. It can clear through taunts as well and wins on the spot (unless your opponent can push 128 armor).
YOU NEED

  • 9 Mana
  • 7 Cards (Radiant Elemental, Radiant Elemental or Vivid Nightmares, Topsy Turvy, Test Subject, Divine Spirit, Stonetusk Boar

THE COMBO

Refer to that. LoL. (courtesy of russellgoke. Two options there. One if they have a board of taunts u need to get through, one if u just need to hit them for 64)

WHY THIS SHELL?

I don’t know what the best archetype to build this combo in is. But I think this one is refreshing and cool. So, you NEED to get to turn 9 and u need those combo pieces. that means you should spend turns 1-8 surviving and drawing. I think the quest does well in this because of the addition of deathrattle support in Dead Ringer. Dead ringer will get you either your combo pieces, or another deathrattle that will draw cards, which is good. But since we only have a minimum amount of deathrattles that we would like to get played out, its integral that we mulligan very aggressively for them. You keep quest no matter what unfortunately, as this deck needs to last to the later turns with an amara play.  The deck doesn’t run cleric since it doesn’t need a turn 1 (always quest). This deck is incredibly greedy, and surviving an early onslaught is going to be important.

SYNERGY

Outside of the combo pieces, you can use a copy of the test subject with cards like power word shield and draw alot. there are some games where maybe u just go wide with a board of 6 radiants and jsut call it a day.. allowing you a turn to find another combo piece to kill. this will be challenging but its there.

Sandbinder is there to tutor for Radiant ElementalTwilight's Call  is there to repopulate deathrattles early, which increases your draw or puts a small taunt. I think test subject has pseudo taunt on it, so if u use one early and bring it back, I think players in this early meta will feel it necessary to kill.

This is a work in progress. It’s very possible that another shell is better for this combo, but we will try this out first!

Hey, I think something’s wrong with the first method on the google doc. Something around the “Play hand other than D” step (not even sure what that means).

You end up having no Vivids and a Test on board, but if you topsy it to get your vivids back, you have no more Test subject and you lose the combo. Am I missing something?

It means play all spells except divine spirit on the test subject. which will get you another. Then on the next turn you play the Divine spirits on boars. I’ve actually made a video and podcast to help out with this. Challenging the innkeeper is a good way to see how these swing turns work.
