General Mulligans

Lightning Bolt takes care of every 1-drop in the game pretty much, Tunnel Trogg is terrifying on turn 1, Stormforged Axe is insane, and Totem Golem is one of the best two drops in the game. You can occasionally keep a Faire Drragon, as it's quite good as well.

Intro

Recently, I’ve been laddering with the midrange dragon warrior that’s been doing very well recently. I used to play a lot of control dragon shaman with Malygos and Ancestor's Call before standard hit, so I had to change up my shaman builds, put my dragons into hibernation, until dragon warrior appeared pretty much out of no where, and I’ve been playing with it with quite a bit of success, so i thought, “why not “shaymen”?”. And thus the deck was born, though still testing around with it though.

The In's and Out's

The decks midrange, so don’t confuse it as an aggro/face deck. My goal was to make this a tempo deck, though it became difficult during testing due to the overload. Lava Shock is a crucial part of the deck since the deck doesn’t really play on curve, unless you only play the dragons. Ideal hero powers would be mage or warlock, though the deck won’t suffer by summoning totems. Play it like any other midrange deck that utilizes strong minions to control the board.

I made a lot of the deck around the idea of dragon warrior like many cards are substitutions for warrior class cards. Stormforged Axe replaces Fiery War AxeTotem Golem for Alexstrasza's ChampionUnbound Elemental for Frothing BerserkerFire Elemental for Blacking Corrupter, and Al'Akir the Windlord for Grommash Hellscream. Though with some shaman class cards to make the deck more powerful like Tunnel Trogg and Doomhammer.

The big finishers of the deck are of course Al'Akir the Windlord and Ragnaros the Firelord. Al’Akir can hit for 18 damage burst on turn ten with both Rockbiters, which is insane versus 10 damage burst from Gromm.

Where the Deck Shines

Currently still findhing out the ideal matchups, since I’m using it to climb ladder, though so far, it’s quite good against tempo mage, somewhat favored against freeze mage with removal for Doomsayers, midrange hunter because of cards like Hex for HIghmane, pretty solid against zoo because of Lightning Storm and Stormforged Axe. Those are the classes I’ve played so far, so help finding out the decks strengths and weaknesses are much appreciated!
