Mulligans

General Mulligans

in general, you can't go wrong with the value from the Fire-Fly's, or the potential beast synergies and value plays from macaw, and the combination of Crackling Razormaw with any of the beasts listed.

Keep Timberwolf in your opener if and only if you have an alley cat in hand as well.

Aggro Mulligans

The mulligan for aggro is fairly standard. Argent squires and Abusive Sergeants rise above the rest in value if you have both in your opener because of the trade potential and their combined ability to allow you to gain board control in the early game. Cult Master is also a great card to keep because a majority of aggro decks (pirate warrior and zoo lock) will prioritize your face over your small minions, and you can occasionally get a massive hand refill dependent upon your early game position, and your opponents tendency towards greedy plays.

Midrange Mulligans

Against Mid Range, just keep those 1 drops, and try to complete your quest as fast as possible - the key is sustaining a tempo advantage throughout the entire game. Trade with their minions as if you were in a tight control match up unless you're playing against a Hunter, then push face. Hunters aren't running many board clears or even Unleash the Hounds in Un'Goro (so far), so keep the pressure on from the get go, and be deliberate with your trades.

Combo Mulligans

Finish that Quest ASAP, and push face damage from the get go. Combo decks, specifically the Rogue quest deck must be dominated from the moment you start the game until they die or they will win between turn 6-9 if they draw well.

Control Mulligans

Your main goal is to get your quest finished as soon as possible so that you can apply pressure as they ramp in to their combos or superior late game. Cult Master CAN be a good keep depending upon whether or not you have multiple one drops in your opener as well. Lots of potential for reload here.

Good afternoon guys! I have played Hunter almost exclusively in Standard since it’s release, and with the disappointments of MSoG behind us, I have had a blast carefully tuning this particular deck list over the past two days. I hope that you try out the list, and feel free to post back with your comments and critiques below — enjoy.

pro-tip: if you have the dust, craft golden jeweled macaws, – 10/10 will not regret.
