Mulligans

General Mulligans

The mulligan is generally the same for every type of match-up. You want early game minions, and early game spells, particularly those with card draw.

Taunts also help quite a bit, and since many of our Taunt minions have Divine Shield, they act as double the defense.

The 'Bane sisters are usually fine to keep in hand, as well, particularly if you've got low mana spells to pair them with, and if facing an aggressive class, Consecration can be a worthwhile keep, as well.

This is a Quest Paladin deck that uses minions that, in one way or another, benefit from being buffed by spells.

Nearly every minion in the deck has some type of direct synergy with buff spells, and those that don’t have other needed utilities while still making a good target for said spells.

Echoing Ooze and The Voraxx, in particular, make for great combo pieces with Spikeridged Steed on turns 8 and 10, respectively, and if you’ve got a Djinni of Zephyr on the board at that time, you’re getting some crazy value.

Eydis Darkbane being adapted with Poisonous, then playing a bunch of low cost spells (such as the new Sound the Bells!) can make for an incredibly powerful turn. That’s just one example of her utility, obviously.

Zola is run to get a second copy of Galvadon or Lynessa, but can be used to grab a second Stonehill Defender or Ivory Knight for additional value.

This is a deck that benefits from smartly allocating its resources, and is a blast to play. Just don’t expect it to take you high up the Ranked ladder. I’m sure there are more competitive builds of this deck, but this version feels the most like what Quest Paladin was intended to be (for me, at least).
