Deck Import

Mulligans

General Mulligans

Steady board and extras cards to generate instead of drawing.

Aggro Mulligans

Brann rarely becomes very useful in Aggro games so use him for trades since he's stats are decent and clear with Nova.

Midrange Mulligans

Minions to trade sticky early threats and some spells to draw cards to get ahead.

Control Mulligans

Get your C'Thun buff early and get some extra cards from your opponent instead of drawing. Hooded Acolyte and Twilight Darkmender become unplayable if you're opponent hit's end turn constantly so having a board of your own while having back-up cards is very useful.

Update: 29/04/2016

Since “Whisper Of The Old Gods” came out today and the meta started leaning more towards long and control games, I got greatly inspired from all these cards from many classes and here’s one of my first one.

Experimental: This deck is a work in progress. Refinement may be necessary.

This deck is designed all kinds of circumstances, from long control fatigue games all the way to a Turn 10 C'Thun finisher.

Playstyle:

Your main goal in almost every match-up is to mulligan for an early board to buff C'Thun while at the same time keep off the sticky cards that might get hard to remove later on.

Getting the Golden Monkey early is an advantage but I won’t reccomend playing it right away, especially if you’re C'Thun and can offer you a great tempo swing.

Thoughtsteal and Shifting Shade generate you plenty of cards to not fall behind and give you an advantage as in to not drawing many cards when facing an opponent with a heavy control deck.

As to why I included Embrace the Shadow instead of Auchenai Soulpriest well.. I believe the deck has already enough bodies to provide a board and most of the cards in the deck synergize way better with healing. Auchenai Soulpriest can become very sticky in a control game that you might only need her for 1 turn so Embrace the Shadow solves that problem pretty well.

Any further recommendations are much appreciated!

Can someone send me a version of a Cthun deck without Dlc?

I replaced Elise with Sylvanas. I Think Sylvanas is too good to leave out of a control deck right now.

Went 0-5 with this deck way too many spells not enough minions for board control.

It also doesn’t build c thun quick enough which makes cards like hooded alcolyte and the other useless. Priest is probably the worst class in the game it seems.

Very nice deck so far, there are some interesting choices like embrace the shadows, which is much more useful than auchenai. Also this deck solves refilling hand problem with shades and thoughtsteal. Like it so much
But I think 1swd is not enough to compete with control decks

After some more testing and your recommendations I updated the list. Nice call on the second Shadow Word: Death, helped out a lot, thanks!

Has anyone reading this comment played with this list? If so, is thought steal amazing?

I used thoughtsteal against a warrior and got 2 executes. Probably won me the game. I would recommend an entomb for this deck as well. Twilight Darkmender is amazing against aggro. But Twilight Geomancer makes your C’thun vulnerable to Deathknight.

I see little potential in Entomb in this expansion since it could only be useful against Big Old Gods, adding it eventually to the decks is something that could most likely happen though. As for Twilight Geomancer, I’m considering changing it. Thanks for your recommendation!
