Mulligans

General Mulligans

Mulligan mostly for card draw, and hemet is almost always a keep, since there's no way you can consistently draw him, and having him allows a turn 10 OTK. The spells are nice to have as backup, but not something to mulligan for, except for power word shield, since it can heavily boost your acolyte or cleric, as well as giving instant draw value.

This deck completely revolves around a single OTK combo. It therefore finds strength against control decks, but can struggle against decks trying to mill you or built around disrupting combo decks. The combo, in case you’re unaware, is as follows:

You make sure your deck is empty (this can be quickly done using hemet) and your hand only contains the following cards:

-(Silence)

-Reckless experimenter

-Coffin crasher

-Ticking Abomination (x2)

-Mecha’Thun

Make sure there are no other cards in your deck, since they will prevent mecha’thuns deathrattle from killing your opponent. Only play this combo after you’ve gotten rid of all other cards. Now play these cards in the following order:

-Play Reckless Experimenter (5)

-Play Coffin Crasher (5+3=8)

-Play 2x Ticking Abomination (5+3+1+1=10)

-(Silence an enemy minion or your Reckless Experimenter if you still have it in hand with mecha’thun)

-End your turn.

Now the following will happen: Your reckless experimenter is going to make sure coffin crasher and both abominations die. The order DOES matter, since it will determine in which order the deathrattles go off. First you want your coffin crasher to go off, which will put your Mecha’thun into play. Then, both of your abominations will go off, killing off your minions, including mecha’thun. Since mecha’thun is theoretically the last minion you summoned, the deathrattle will trigger last, and your deck, hand and battlefield will be empty, therefore killing your opponent.

That was the combo part. The rest of the deck revolves around surviving aggro decks, and drawing your combo/hemet (hemet will clear all your other cards except your combo pieces and the psychic screams) Often you are going to be psychic screaming early (even if the board is already empty) so you can play your 10 mana combo on turn 10 or 11.

Here’s the list of cards you NEED in the deck:

-Ticking abomination x2

-Reckless experimenter

-Coffin Crasher

-Mecha’Thun

If you want to go a total budget deck you could scrap Hemet, but I strongly recommend against it, since it’s almost a requirement against other OTK decks like malygos or shudderwock.

Here’s the list of ‘expensive’ optional cards and cheaper replacements.

-Stonehill defender, this card is quite good in general, but it’s not amazing in this deck but is a rare card. I would recommend replacing this with another 3 mana taunt.

-Psychic scream, this card is amazing in this deck, as it’s basicly a full board clear without triggering any deathrattles that could benefit your opponent. Amazing against aggro as well, the only downsides are it being 7 mana (therefore you HAVE to play them if you put them in) and it being an epic card. A good replacement would be a wild pyromancer with mass dispel/circle of healing, but it doesn’t come close to the power level of psychic scream.

-Hemet, Jungle Hunter, I cannot stress enough how good this card synergizes with the deck and I would almost call it a must, but if you really cannot afford crafting a hemet, try adding some more defense against aggro decks, and maybe a little healing.
