You Can’t Get Blademaster Samuro & Mankrik From Pre-Purchase Legendaries As a Part Of Duplicate Protection

Yesterday it was announced that we’ll have two Diamond Cards this expansion – a new type of cosmetic. One of them – Diamond Blademaster Samuro – is obtainable by purchasing Tavern Pass. However, players have worried that they might get him as one of the Pre-Purchase Legendaries if they also plan to get Tavern Pass, which would result in a needless duplicate.

The interaction was clarified – Blademaster Samuro will NOT drop from Pre-Purchase Legendaries that are automatically added to your collection after expansion is released. It can still drop from the packs, so if you want to buy Tavern Pass, be sure to buy it and claim Diamond Samuro first BEFORE opening packs.

Similarly, Mankrik can be claimed by everyone for free at Level 1 on rewards track – the card also won’t drop, and he also won’t drop from the packs – rewards track is the only way to get regular (non-Golden) version. Golden version, however, can still be obtained from packs. So again, if you don’t want to risk getting a duplicate (but Golden), claim the regular version first!

I want to buy the Tavern Pass, but what if I get Blademaster Samuro as one of my Pre-Purchase Legendary drops?

  • We put in protections to make sure none of your Pre-Purchase Legendary drops are wasted. Diamond Blademaster Samuro is uncraftable, and no version of Blademaster Samuro will drop as a Pre-Purchase Legendary. Normal and Golden Blademaster Samuro can still be found in packs or crafted – so if you plan to purchase the Tavern Pass, do so and claim Blademaster Samuro before opening packs!
  • Normal Mankrik is free on the Reward Track at level 1 and uncraftable. Mankrik won’t drop as a Pre-Purchase Legendary or drop from packs. Golden Mankrik can still be found in packs or crafted.

Can someone explain me how leveling works in rewards track? I came back to playing Hearthstone after six months at December and just found myself automatically to might be lv 30 if I remember ok. Do we just start every season from lv 1?

Yes thanks to a rebalance of the xp everyone got boosted up a couple of levels. And yes you always start from level 1, and it gets harder and harder to reach the next level and easy at first.

Last season was a bit of a mess in general, many players couldn’t complete any Quests for a few weeks so they got boosted by a lot as a compensation. Plus there were like two remakes of the system.

But yes, everyone starts from level 1 and you work your way up. In Forged in the Barrens, the “main” rewards track will have 100 levels with different rewards (gold, cards, packs, tavern tickets for Arena/Duels etc.) and then after level 100 you will get flat 50 gold / level (up to 400).
