Weekly Quests Are Actually Good Now? Is It Safe to Return to Hearthstone?

Much like Microsoft/Activision/Blizzard has done with WoW, it is all about the developers/”higher ups” fear that players will “run out of things to do” get bored and unsub (or in the case of Hearthstone, uninstall the app). Thus, they create these tedious ‘chores’ to keep the players engaged. However, this backfires when the chores are so tedious the players end up leaving anyway.

Hearthstone 29.4.2 Patch Notes - Balance Changes, Weekly Quest Updates, Bug Fixes

Weekly quest changes are better. HOWEVER, 650 mana is still too much (though not as bad as 750) for those who really don’t play much constructed much other than for the daily (and improved weekly). BG changes are interesting and for the most part seem a nice recalc of power/cost.

However, I am concerned with the buffing the effect (even if the base stats have been nerfed) of Hungering Abomination could prove problematic. I feel the changes to Defiant Shipwright are going to be an over-buff given it is a tier 2 minion. Nice to see a reduction in the trigger point for both Gunpowder Courier and Spellbound Seafarer. The latter though, I rarely play being a tier 5 as rather have that space for the Tier 6 of either Record Smuggler and/or Admiral Eliza Goreblade.

(Live Now!) Hearthstone 29.4 Patch Notes - Dr. Boom's Mini-Set, Balance Changes, New Twist & Arena Seasons, In-Game Event, Bug Fixes

Saddle Up! seems like an odd change as usually wouldn’t play it even when I had 3 mana as not enough (or any) minions on the board to make it worth while. Not familiar with the other card so can’t comment. The weekly quests are not too bad other than the dreaded ‘Spend 750 Mana’ followed a close second by ‘Win 10 Games in Ranked’.

Hearthstone 25.2.2 Patch Notes - 25 Constructed, 17 Battlegrounds and 31 Duels Balance Changes + Bug Fixes

Isn’t there a DH card that exchanges your hand with cards in your deck? That would be a way to draw six cards in one turn.

The Three Cards That Dominate Castle Nathria - Are Renathal, Theotar, and Denathrius a Problem?

I dropped Prince Renathal a while back as it did not work for me. Having to add nine other cards to my deck to get to the 40 limit just wasn’t working. Even at 30 cards with most games lasting 7-8 rounds it is not always easy to get the cards you really need to win. But then to add 10 filler cards for 10 more health just made the game drag on.

Sire Denathrius is freaking annoying as hell and pretty much an instant concede for me as I have no way to counter as my opponent just steals more health back every time that attacks. Had that the other night after I gotten a Warlock down to 1-2 health twice (played Reno) and thought I’d have them on the next turn with just hero power. However they played an over-buffed Sire Denathrius. Game over.

Nozdormu the Eternal Deck Lists - How to Finish Nozdormu Day Quest - June 15, 2023

Guessing most everyone just re-rolls the quest as never came across anyone else with Nozdormu the Eternal in their deck.. I just took a less than favorable card out of my Pirate Warrior deck and replaced with Nozdormu the Eterna. Easy 1800 XP.

Rise of the Naga Season Coming to Hearthstone Battlegrounds: Naga Minion Type, New Keyword "Spellcraft", Queen Azshara Hero - Launching May 10

In a way I am kind of glad they are going. For some of the buddies, the effects were nice, but losing that one space in the warband really could make a difference in having a good solid synergistic warband.

(Live Now) Hearthstone Patch 23.0.3 Notes - Nerfs to Kazakusan, Quest Warrior, Ramp Druid, Kael'Thas, Switcheroo + Battlegrounds & Duels Balance Changes

To differentiate/bring attention to that effect versus ALL enemies with Pufferfist. I suppose it was that mechanic on Pufferfist which lead to the devs nerfing the health.

Also in regards to “Secure the Supplies (the third portion of the Warrior Questline, Raid the Docks)”

I don’t see it making a big difference as by this point in the QL you have enough Mana/Cards to play another Pirate in the same turn. Now if they have increased the requirement in the first and/ or second parts that would have slowed the progression by a turn or two

“Pufferfist Old: 3 Attack, 4 Health → New: 3 Attack, 3 Health”

I don’t get this one as by the time I get this on the battlefield my opponent already has enough mana or a spell to remove it from the board with 4 Health on their next turn. The new stats are now aligned with Defias Cannoneer, but he does 2 damage to RANDOM enemy minions twice.

Battlegrounds Curves Explained – Standard, Jeeves, Warrior, and More - When You Should Level Up Your Tavern

So I’ve been trying the Shinese Curve method and it is hit and miss. A LOT of RNG which can go in your favor or lead to an epic failure. My biggest issue has always been I get so tunnel vision on buying minions, I forget to upgrade the tavern past 3. Even more so with the upgrade from 4 to 5 being so costly. However, I am trying to get to 5 as soon as I have the gold as I feel there is a certain advantage of being one of the first getting Tier 5 (or 6 if creating a triple once on tier 5) minions.

Last Chance to Disenchant Cards Nerfed In Patch 20.2.2 For Full Dust Cost (May 26)

The only one I would even consider DE would be Crabrider as not really playing that one. Everything else I still see as decent, especially Mankrik. Even if his wife’s health was reduced the instant 3 Face Damage to the enemy when drawn still outweighs the ‘nerf’. Refreshing Spring Water at current full cost allows you to corrupt Ring Toss to gain the extra secret so more of an unintended buff than a nerf. First Day of School was a hit, but still good way to get some minions into your hand and on to the field quickly. Hysteria I don’t think I have, but I have it played on me a lot, especially as a Hunter when I have a big minion and a bunch of 1 health on the field.

Patch 20.2.2 - Nerfs to Refreshing Spring Water, First Day of School, Hysteria, Crabrider and Mankrik, 10 Card Buffs, 8 Quilboar Nerfs and Barrens Blacksmith Removed in BG

There is one benefit of Refreshing Spring Water being upped to 5 is that it can corrupt Ring Toss which then can be played in the same turn to gain the two secrets. Of course I come to a point even when I have enough mana to play Refreshing Spring Water, I really can’t as will cause my hand to become full.

Secret Paladin Deck List & Guide - Forged in the Barrens - May 2021

Alexstrasza the Life-Binder is awesome and has helped me finally end many fights. I only have one Oh My Yogg! and seems with my luck I have a 50/50 chance of it backfiring on me. I’ve seen to do well without having Kazakus, Golem Shaper in my deck. Hammer of the Naaru is very helpful in slowing damage to your hero with the summoned 6/6 Taunt; especially if Galloping Savior secret hasn’t been tripped yet and/or not having or already lost Taelan Fordring. My only big loss was to a Warrior who just bombarded me with buffed attack minions and armoring up faster than I could damage them.

Balance Changes Will Be Discussed Next Week After Masters Tour, Coming The Week After

” (Paladin in particular is way too powerful)”

Yeah nothing like seeing a Paladin dropping a heavily boosted Taunt minion on turn 1 or 2 to make my two Wolpertinger I played on turn 1 wet the floor and want to run away.

Budget Beast Face Hunter - Forged in the Barrens

After adding back Knife Vendor today I have grown to appreciate that card. By playing that card at the very end I won 2 matches and tied (we both died because of the Knife Vendor) one match. For those who may not be aware (such as myself until I saw an opponent do this) Piercing Shot can be used on your OWN minions. This came in handy when my opponent had buffed taunt minions, but I had a little 1-health minion I sacrificed to deal a fatal 5-damge to my opponent’s hero.
