Nazmani to drop on 3 is best, with Insight in hand for the corrupt, or Palm Reading with Insight are probably the 2 best cases. Creation Protocol is fine, but you generally want that to grab Velen if you don't draw him early enough for discounts, or to find a second Crimson Clergy when you combo. Vivid Nightmare is necessary to do the pop-off discount turn, and hitting it with Palm Reading is very good. Animate Dead is good if you also have Nazmani and Insight for turn 3, or Palm Reading as it means you have one less card Nazmani can hit. Thrive in the Shadows is probably the best card generally for early game, as it lets you pick a draw based on your opening, but it isn't strictly better than just having drawn the card you would've picked off of it. Crimson Clergy isn't generally a keep, unless you have other good combo pieces.
The combo is simple, play Prophet Velen, Vivid Nightmare the Velen, Embrace The Shadow, and double Purifying Breath for 40 DMG, plus any cheap healing card/hero power for some extra burst on top. The gameplan for the deck is to use Nazmani Bloodweaver and Crimson Clergy with cheap healing and draw spells to draw through your deck and reduce the cost of the combo pieces to (0).
You never want to slam Crimson Clergy before Nazmani dies otherwise your Animate Dead will be a 50-50, assuming you don’t have a Nazmani stick with double Crimson Clergy and an AOE heal in hand. Similar to other Nazmani decks you generally want to play your Nazmani whenever you can and have it die to allow you to double Animate Dead with one Vivid Nightmare to get 3 Nazmanis, and with double Crimson Clergy that should be enough to draw through the whole deck and reduce Velen to (0).
