Midrange Totem Shaman is starting to come together, and Thijs has really refined it to something that is looking like a quality deck list. The deck uses a few of the strong TGT cards: Totem Golem, Tuskarr Totemic, and Thunder Bluff Valiant. The rest of the list is very reminiscent of previous Midrange Shaman deck lists. I’m curious where this deck will stack up in the current tournament meta game. Thijs’ said that he went 30-12 while climbing on stream [source], and it did well against the newly formed Secret Paladin.

Pretty good deck, I won 4-5 in a row in casual gameplay, but at rank 10 I was picked apart by hunter

Not a bad deck. I added another earth shock since I don’t have al’alkair. I think Alex would be a good addition as well. But mistcaller would benefit the deck a whole lot better in my opinion

Has anyone else tried Justicar yet in this deck? And if so, how successful have you been with her?

Justicar barely works in Paladin decks at the moment and thats one of the best hero power buffs. Overall, Justicar is pretty meh for the decks and can make it work and terrible for class that cannot. Shaman is one of those that he cannot. I ended up crafting Justicar and cannot find a place for her in any deck besides for Warrior control.

I tried it! I have not a lot of legendaries and it helped me late game, choosing which totem to get is amazing it can win you the game if your opponent only has big minions

I don’t have nax, so I haven playing it with one lightning bolt, one crackle, one healing wave, and one bloodlust, over the 4 nax cards, and it has been good so far. Any other suggestions?

My suggestion is that you get nax

I’ve been using Justicar instead of Al’Akir to some success. I’m sure Al’Akir is strictly better, but the ability to pick your totem has been VERY clutch for me. However, with Al’Akir you may not need such ‘clutch’ type plays. Anyhow, it’s been a decent sub for me.

and what about -1 zombie + 1 healing wave?

x2 zombie chow is essential to bulding a base of control. Turn 1 zombie and turn 2 golem is too strong a start.

Also this deck shuts down huntard and crumbles to pally anyway, I cannot think of a matchup where losing some tempo and healing will do you any good. It got rave reviews at first but it’s basically a shit version of antique healbot which you could tech in more easily.

I never get turn 1 zombie n turn 2 totem? N find I lose unless I get tht combo off! Wat do I do?

        Especially against hunter

doomhammer is the best replacement without going down the “win more” route but another argus is fine you don’t really need another win condition.

Pally is a terrible match-up and I would say -1 feral spirit for a windfury. Sounds mad but combos well with the windlord and fire ele for a 12damage combo and helps play round noble sacrifice plus its great if your turn 2 totem golem survives #ragequit. That’s what’s so great about tgt, so much viability.

Doomhammer, although it is normally used in more aggressive versions of shaman it can serve as a replacement for the burst

Bloodlust is the best one. It’s so easy to fill the board with this deck.

I would say Ragnaros is one of the best replacements who is sometimes a bit less reliant, but sometimes even stronger than Al’Akir. Overall a pretty strong finisher, which is really needed because Boom alone is often not enough..
