Mulligans

General Mulligans

Just hard mulligan for those three, really, it is worth it. Maybe ambush is good too, so you can keep a copy. And as i explained i dont like sphere of sapience in my starting hand.

Another attempt in my path to make the most playable Highkeeper Ra deck. Obiuosly a combo deck, but as this time comes to rogue it also plays kinda tempo (Actually i’ve won many games just by taking down the enemy health).

I think this is the final version i could come up with, maybe except for Eviscerate and Sphere of Sapience wich im not sure they’re fulfilling my needs during the match. (Dont craft sphere btw i haven’t seen any deck running it at the moment).

Start the game by playing your stealth minions to get as tempo as posible (a bit hard maybe because of the reactive purpouse of most of the cards). Then manage your removing spells as they are finite (more than in another classes). I prefered in this list to opt for Sneaky Delinquent over Spymistress as i found the latest was not doing much for the board and also thining my hand very fast.

So Sphere of Sapience. What i found after playing many games with it, i found it more useful to play in the latter turns than at the very start (at least within this deck). Keeping it on mulligan will definitively kill your starting hand and the payoff is just not worth (there is also your hero power wich you may want to use on the first turns).

There is Secret Passage (one of my favs from the expansion). As your hand will likely be stacking combo cards (wich are quite many) is a very useful cards for two reasons: first you’re able to play cards that are not in your hand so you maintain your hand size, and second you’re able to waste play cards from your deck, lightening it in the procces. So very useful card that shouldn’t be wasted for nothing.

Ok so the combo: there is a couple of ways to pull of the combo so i will list them separately, but bear in mind that it reaquires a high number of cards and also remember that there will be games where you may be able to win by playing tempo. I think it is necerasy to me to explain them as i’ve found myself misplaying a lot when i started playing the deck. Important note both Preparation are esential for the combo, so dont waste them (unless you really need to, as i said there’s also other ways to win the match).

1. [All in one turn]: as the name suggest is a classic combo that will surprise your enemy in a single turn, but its not optimal, as it requires 6 combo cards on hand plus The Coin (at full mana) and only does 20 damage. Make sure your board is empty before the combo. So it goes: Double Mogu Cultist (coin after the first one), Preparation, Potion of Illusion, repeat (without coin), and drop 3 of your remaining Mogu Cultist.

2. [Prepare and Unleash]: Similar to the first method but you dont need the coin but instead a copy of Daring Escape (you only need one tho, so you can either waste the other or cut it from the deck if you feel like). Downside; you’ll waste an entire turn just preparing your combo (so not that great if you’re dying). Order: Double Mogu Cultist, PreparationPotion of Illusion, repeat and play Daring Escape. This way your hand ends up with 8 Mogu Cultist for 9 mana. Next turn play 7 of them to summon Highkeeper Ra and maybe Togwaggle's Scheme if you need to.

3. [Go with the flow]: Ive found this the eassiest way to accomplish the full combo, through several turns, and not necesarilly right before playing the final combo. this way it gets less demanding and also lets you a spare Preparation in case you wasted it. On a spare turn (when enemy board is not that menacing) play Double Mogu CultistPotion of Illusion and Daring Escape for 7 mana (or 5 with prep), you can play more stuff in this turn and also get aditional Wand Thiefs, but be wary of your hand size. Later in the game, as you get your another potion and preparation (if you wasted the first) just play the 4 Mogu Cultist, Preparation, Potion of Illusion and play 3 of your new mogu cultists. Never play the eighth one though as it would left you no mana in case you want to Togwaggle's Scheme for extra damage.
