I’ve been playing this exact list from 20 to 9 now (Not super impressive I know) and the only match-up which seems unplayable really is Shudderwock. The moment they go for it you either need to have 15 power on board most of the time to Alex them down. Which is close to impossible.

You win pretty much all control match-ups.
Aggro can be rough if you get a lot of 5+ cost cards, but I think overal you are favored against them.

I don’t see why lists would run MC. That card feels outright useless. Control is favored. Useless against aggro. Midrangey decks like Warlock should not be an issue.. Its fine if you can MC their 3/9 but that’s about it. It’s fine but not required to win. I’ve toyed with the Spellstone because I didn’t have a Zola.. but ditched it the moment I got to craft her. Instead of MC I would rather run a Squashling or something against aggro.

I have been playing the version with -2 abomination +2 Applebaum and -1 ooze +1 MC for a long time now and I have to say while this might be also very viable my instinct is to prefer the deck I am already playing. Give it a shot as well!

Can someone please explain to me how you win with this? Got smoked by shudderwack and huntard. What’s the point of bishop?

Shudderwock as a combo deck is a naturally very unfavored matchup, you can only win with pressure and by them drawing badly.
Hunter as a midrange combo deck is also quite hard to win, try to ramp the quest really hard and be mindful that psychic scream can be useless.
Archbishop is your win con against control matchups, you usually play him when the game is in the last phase before fatigue and you’ve neutralized each other to some degree. Do not try to play it against aggro (e.g. odd pala), as he will only fill your deck with useless cards.
In some matchups early benedictus is ok (against control mage e.g., because of their high card quality) or even mandatory (only really against DMH warrior).

That’s one of the reasons I like the MC so much. You can, in the current meta, outheal almost all weapon damage over time and Amara is also a big help. However, the idea is really to fatigue and outvalue the opponent. So a few things come together:

          – Dragonfire gone, best replacement is Psychic Scream. Problem: Card advantage. Solution: Scream twice until you’re safe and established a board, drew the keycards. Then go for Benedictus to get your opponents stack on top. Instantly ahead on board and in cards!

          – Combo decks must be stopped or actually countered. Shudderwock is the worst enemy of this deck and almost certainly a loss. With one exception: Grumble is often played for the effect only, because he is the only threatening minion. The games I win I did it like this: put up random tinies, wait for Grumble, get alexstrasza. Then hope for no Hex, MC on Grumble, Drop Alex next round. Volcano only does 15, so the tinies save your Alex & Grumble, which do 15dmg to an enemy with 15 HP.

You can probably already see how unlikely it is to win against that matchup – other only chance is to get Shudderwock and Grumble from Benedictus and play the combo yourself while healing with Amara.

Any other game, though, you can easily outvalue all opponents by making the right plays and getting card advantage.

          Tips:
          – Combo spirit lash with Thalnos
          – try to resurrect Thalnos before using it and to get +2 life
          – Use Zola on Amara and try to keep her in your hand as long as you can
          – Don’t Benedictus till you’re sure your scream boards are done and you have Anduin in your hand
          – in mirror matches never play Benedictus first
          – use Zola on Benedictus in taunt matches!!
          – make smart trades and try to get the right spells from shadow visions
          – consider not going anduin when you’re playing taunt vs taunt as healing your dragons can outperform the hero power of DK anduin, for whom you do not have so much ammo

It’s a complicated deck – usually you need to stabilize by turn 8-10 or you’re dead. After that, every draw is the right draw to control the board, which is why I love it so.

          Good luck!
