Mulligans

I know it seems crazy to build a DH deck without the OP legendary cards you’re used to seeing but they are all surprisingly bad in this deck. I’ve play tested them all in here and they never performed well. If you want to try something fresh that has some competitive viability, this is it!

Deck Guide:

Mulligan for Immolation Aura, Eye BeamSoul Cleave, Hench-Clan Hogsteed against aggro match-ups. Mulligan for combo cards against control decks such as Knife JugglerWrathscale NagaCoordinated Strike, and Command the IllidariCrimson Sigil Runner is always a keep if it’s in an outcast position in the mulligan and Umberwing is generally a good keep against pretty much anything as it helps contest aggro and may draw out some removal from control.

As far as play style of this deck, it’s more mid-range than anything else. It doesn’t run 2 Skull of Gul’dans because they often feel clunky in your hand. For this same reason, it also only runs one Feast of Souls. The goal is to keep the board clear until you can start pressuring the opponent several turns in a row with your combos. Around turn 5/6/7, most opponents will start to pressure you with bigger minions or will develop a board, which they get punished for by your Knife Juggler/Wrathscale Naga/Token combos. It allows you to completely clear their boards while doing a decent amount of face damage over the next 2 to 3 turns. Priestess of Fury and Nethrandamus serve as your late game finishers to follow up those combo turns.

I’m sure your thinking, “Why wouldn’t you run Satyr Overseer and Warglaives of Azzinoth?” or, “Why wouldn’t you run Altruis with so many outcast cards in the deck?” As both of those arguments seem valid in theory, they failed in practice. By the time you can play Satyr Overseer and Warglaives to actually get value from them, you’ve lost. As far as Altruis goes, despite running outcast cards, you’re trying to clear their boards with your rush minions to get max value from your combos. So even though Altruis seems like it would work in a deck like this, it’s actually counter-intuitive to the play style.

Working on a highlight video to show off the power of this deck. As a side note, this deck won’t be affected in any major way by the upcoming nerfs despite both DH cards being nerfed are in the deck. The Crimson Sigil Runner is almost purely used for cycle and Priestess of Fury isn’t expected to last more than the turn it’s played and if anything will actually help against Priest since you won’t get punished by Soul Mirror. Any questions or suggestions, feel free to post them in the comments. Have fun!
