Mulligans
General Mulligans
The best 2 cards are the Murloc Tidecaller for turn 1 and Rockpool Hunter for turn 2. It gives you a 3/3 Murloc Tidecaller plus the 2/3 Rockpool hunter that sets a great pace and usually puts you well ahead on the board. The Hydrologist is good also because it gives you a secret to either avoid a hit with Noble Sacrifice or gets your minion returned to you with Getaway Kodo. I would always go for Noble Sacrifice first but sometimes it is not an option. I suggest using the weapon only on enemy minions in the early game.
My Murloc Paladin deck is not only a fun deck to play it’s also great for laddering. I enjoy this deck more than the slower control decks because it is very interactive and much faster paced, I aim to finish the matches around turn 7 or 8 but it is capable of turn 3 and 4 wins if you get the right combo of cards. The best start for me is going second and having the coin because it ups your tempo especially if your opponent makes no play. The best cards to have in hand on turn 1 are a Murloc Tidecaller, a Rockpool Hunter, and Unidentified Maul. I will settle for aMurloc Warleader in place of the Unidentified Maul because it can up the tempo even more. With the Unidentified Maul you either get +1 attack for all minions, Devine Shield for all minions or, 2 1/1 Silver Hand Recruits. The devine shield is the most positive for the early game because it keeps your murlocs alive for a boost and can give you the option to clear the board with no loss of your minions. In other decks that are very simmilar I see people running the Rallying blade instead but for me it was of little help because there are only 2 divine shield minions in the deck. I also choose to run 1 Dinosize in place of FinJa, I have found the boost to be much better and it can unexpectedly finish a match with the face dammage or by removing a large taunt when your opponent thinks they are safe. The hardest matchups I find are against Dragon Priest and A few of the Warlock decks because of early removal cards that work very well against this particular deck but if you play them a bit more conservative by waiting to play your Murloc Warleaders until you can get 3 or 4 other Murlocs on tne board it is possible to win albeit difficult. Anyway this deck has made laddering fun instead of frustrating or boreing for me, I hope that others will enjoy it too.
