Mulligans
General Mulligans
If you are unsure what you are facing, these are good keeps. Can provide you good hand crafting and Brann and Elise are generally good bodies and can play on curve. Add Harrison if it is a class with a weapon.
Aggro Mulligans
These are your main keeps against Aggro. Curator is mainly there because you want to either find a good three drop or any of the decent Taunt minions with Deathrattle that are available. You would probably want to pick from the following against Aggro ; Tentacle of N'Zoth, Loot Hoarder, Bloodmage, Harvest Golem, Infested Tauren, Abomination, Chillmaw.
Consider keeping Harrison against aggro Shaman. Doomhammer is a pain.
Midrange Mulligans
Midrange gives you a bit more time to fix your hand; but you will likely need a good sweeper that can deal with larger bodies.
Control Mulligans
Pretty much the same as General. Harrison again vs weapon classes.
After ending last month at Rank 6 I became really frustrated today (start of the new season) when suddenly I was losing ranks and wound up at 20 and could not regain it. I tried loads of different builds; mostly variations of the Priest C’Thun deck that did me so well just the day before. Even tried a few builds I saw on here. Nothing worked.
I felt Elise might actually be bad now because she would be an autolose to C’Thun decks. Elise wants to take the game to fatigue and C’Thun just grows into a massive endgame threat; but I decided to test anyway and see. Turns out what usually happens is they wind up having to play him early or at least cannot grow him enough to kill you, then you kill or Entomb it. Also; Hogger is a huge counter to C’Thun. He also really screws over Juggler, Flamewaker, Whirlwind effects, and is a lot better than I thought he was when I first saw him.
One of the Engineers should probably be a Bloodmage but I am out of dust to craft one. I use them because they provide early game speedbumps and digging against aggro while providing value off of Brann. Curators are very good at finding “on-curve” cards or silver bullets.
Run a Soulpriest singleton in addition to Embrace because of redundancy and because being a body is often relevant.
Your goal is to use the early turns to hand-shape and then control the board with wipes. You drown your opponent in card advantage and removal and then as with most Monkey decks you turn all your leftover junk into Legendary minions. You also can do a lot of burst damage with Embrace the Shadow.
Priest took a huge hit with the loss of Lightbomb and decent Taunt minions.
Feedback appreciated.
