Deal Your Fate – Tempo Mage

The Tavern Brawl this week can be pretty weird, and the number of fates you can discover is broad enough that it’s difficult to build your deck around. As many of them key off spells or give you spells, I think your best bet is something like Tempo Mage. Other things like Combo Rogue or Control Warrior can come apart when the fates conspire against you.

I have mostly stuck with a standard normal Tempo Mage list with a few amendments based around the fact people will be playing spells. Loatheb “oh, you thought you could play spells?” Eydis Darkbane “I was told there would be bananas…” and Spellbender “my banana, I think”. You could also run Fjola Lightbane if you like, but I don’t have her. I think things like Gadgetzan Auctioneer are tempting, but too slow.

Update: More and more people are playing midrange to controlling decks, so I have modified my deck to have more late staying power. Aslo, Violet Teacher is pretty cool with bananas.

That said, if you’re offered the option between Bananas and Spells 1 Cheaper, make your spells cheaper every time.
