Mulligans

General Mulligans

Because the deck has no one-drops, your ideal hand has a 2-drop and a 3-drop. Even if this means you're spending an eviscerate to trade for a 2-drop, that's keeping you from falling behind, which is certainly enough.

Always keep Backstab except against Warrior, but only keep two Backstab against Hunter or when you expect another face deck.

I almost always keep Edwin in my hand with the coin. As a turn-2 4/4 at worst, Edwin is a great way to crush the early game. That said, Edwin can be pretty disgusting with a good Shadowstep turn, so holding for value can be strong too.

Brann is okay with the coin and if your hand is already good without him, or as an early body vs aggressive decks. However, ideally Brann is a late-game combo card because of his synergy with Shadowcaster and Shadow Step.

I treat Xaril as a 5-drop, so I would never keep it in the opener in this deck.

Aggro Mulligans

While Defender of Argus and Twin Emperor are huge parts of surviving over the course of the game, you do not want to have either of them in your opener over a minion that doesn't require set up. Keep Defender only with the coin, and if you already have multiple 2 and 3-drops in your hand. Sap isn't ideal against cheap minions but you can do a lot worse, so I often keep it in my opener vs aggro.
