Mulligans

General Mulligans

If your going first try and get at least ONE of the following, if not more of them

Babbling Book

Sorcerer's Apprentice

Cult Sorcerer

Arcane Missiles

If your going second, you want to try and get the following

Wyrm, Sorcerer's Apprentice, and Cult Sorcerer.

Aggro Mulligans

Against Aggro you want to keep Arcane Blast, for decent trades into things such as 2/2 minions, Cult Sorcerer boosts the Arcane Blast's damage up to a whopping 4, so playing against a druid that ramped up into a druid of the claw, you can trade this into him + the Cult Sorcerer and win the mana cost trade (1+2 =3 and 3 < (less than) 6). Forgotten Torch allows for trading into something like a x/3 minion (x = the attack power) Arcane Missiles is good for getting rid of pesky x/1 minions because the RNG (Random Number Generator) usually ends up going 1/2 (hitting the x/1 minion and going 2 to face)

Control Mulligans

For Either turn, going first or second, these are the best cards to go to because These all end up slowing down control to the point where they can't do much, Control Warrior will not want to use one of their charges on their Firey War Axe to trade into a 1/1 lousy minion, and if the Wyrm doesn't get boosted much they won't want to use their axe to trade into this, or even a druid won't want to waste a Wrath or something on it, pretty much you are set especially if you don't do much and then try to outburst them, if you can do this and manage to keep a board and make even trades, you will (eventually) win the game.

Mage

Hey guys! This is DemonBlades bringing you my take on a Tempo Mage. This mage deck takes on tempo mage in a different matter, instead of running Azure Drakes, Thaurissan, 2 Babbling Books, & Archmage Antonidas, and attempting to play a control variant of the deck, I’m playing a more aggressive deck that tends to go to the mid game/late game rather then trying to win turn 5/6. I’ve teched in 2 Forgotten Torches because this adds another 2 fireballs to your deck, and that means more board removal/more damage to face. I also teched in 1 Blizzard because this helps you take control of the board, so that next turn you can remove the opponents board, and or attack for face.  The Damage Potential of the deck is deadly. The win cons in this deck are as follows, your first win con is Flamewaker and it’s “Pings” that it gets every time you cast a spell. This can help you setup board advantage very quickly. Another win con is the 2 Arcane Giants in the deck, these will most certainly give you a huge board advantage by turn 9/10 because of all the spells you cast. I’ve playtested this deck quite a few times, and you end up getting 2/3 cost Arcane Giants, and if you can hold off the board state long enough, you can get them for free and go One Arcane Giant and into maybe a Cabalist Tome then continue to get hand advantage as well as board advantage. Your third win con, which shouldn’t be used unless you direly need to is Yogg-Saron, Hope’s End. This card can make or break a game, due to the fact that 1) The spells it cast are random and randomly chosen(You CAN kill yourself if you play this card and you are low HP) 2) You can win the game by doing something hilarious (Like I have done, Heroic Strike + Rockbiter + Sinister Strike a total of 10 damage) and winning by that. The 4th win con of the deck is the burn damage, the Fireballs/Roaring Torches/Firelands portal, can all help to bring the opponent down to low hp within a couple turns, also the Cabalist Tombs can also give you even more burn damage and possibly end up winning you the game, especially if you get a secret like Ice Block, Duplicate, Ice Barrier, and Vaporize, these secrets are deadly and can end up turning the Tides of Battle to your favor. The deck itself is really fun to play, and in general, Mage is a fun class, and it got quite a bit support from One Night in Karazhan, this deck has been getting better and better with every expansion it seems. This deck does take quite a bit of thinking to master and use properly.
