I guess I kinda like how this expansion is promoting slower and more tempo decks especially if Old Gods and Gadgetzan rotating out soon, but I still feel like Blizzard ran out of ideas while making this expansion and it could have been more unique like Un’goro for example….BUT I obviously haven’t tried out any of the new cards (besides Marin) so for all I know, this expansion MIGHT actually make Hearthstone “Fun and Interactive”

Does anybody know if you’ll still be able to fight the lich and get the prince after the release of K&C?

I image you will be able to as long as you already have an account. I still have access to all the old adventures.

This is looking to be an interesting expansion. Here’s my take on the state of all the classes when the dust settles:

Priest: Easily the strongest class moving forward, plenty of new toys for Razakus and dragon priest.

Mage: Still quite strong in terms of grinder, with some new random spell archtypes and a potential heavy spell theme to use in the future.

Rogue: Rogue got some pretty crazy stuff here, and tempo rogue should be stronger than ever with its new draw mechanic.

Warrior: Without fiery war axe warrior has some trouble on the horizon, but some cool armor-based effects could lead to an interesting archtype arising.

Shaman: Maybe some cool overload giants deck comes around, but otherwise I mainly see more evolve in shaman’s future.

Druid: Druid should have some fun new ramp and midrange toys to play with, and jade will still be stronger than ever with some more defensive options.

Paladin: Midrange recruit pally may finally find its way into the standard mainstream, and buff pally might be a cool new thing to try as well.

Warlock: Warlock has some cool new demons to try out for a potential mid-late game demonlock with the DK, and discard quest might be fun to try out.

Hunter: Hunter is looking to be the joke class of this expansion, though some deathrattle options and new midrange tools should at least give it a shot.

Priest: Highlander receives The darkness as an answer. It will see less game, but big priest may stay. Dragons and “storm” control may be the new ones.

Mage: The current lists will undergo changes and new lists will be tested. Exodia mage will remain uninteractive and boring as ever.

Rogue: The new decks will be so damn powerful, and the damn quest can see the game again!

Warrior: Let’s see the new meta. Is it possible to play control or not? Also, a tempo version is not badly thought out either.

Shaman: No idea. Bloodlust or evolve decks? I just dont get the new class direction…

Druid: Lists will be improved and maybe even see tests with Ixlid + Arcane Tyrant in ramp or some new midrange style.

Paladin: Control lists may be an option with the meta shift (or not lol), but there is a lot of new material to try to improve on old ideas.

Warlock: Zoo and control may improve, we may even see different “control” decks, but this alterations will be made at the expense of rare and common cards (and Cataclysm).

Hunter: Right now, after seeing all the cards, I just feel that aoe is required to be playable with the new direction. The old direction you will keep the same problems, but as usual we will see many of these in the first week…

Priest: Razakus gets countered pretty hard by The Darkness and Fal’dorei Strider, of which Rogue has huge dominion, so Razakus will be hard to pull off if Rogue sees a high spot in the meta (which is probable). Dragons will probably win over Priest players.
Mage: New ideas with High-roller Mage decks are nice, featuring big spells and potential wins with the Mage Legendary. But knowing the HS Legend grinders, Quest Mage will most likely reign supreme.
Rogue: Oh, boy, am I going to be having some fun! No more relying on that Keleseth stuff, now time to play a bunch of memes, Miracles, and Mills! Yeeeeah booiii! (Obviously a Rogue “main”. Obviously disenchanted Quest when it got nerfed)
Warrior: Eh. Control may see a comeback. I’d totally be fine with that. DMH infinite Fatigue didn’t see much gain, but I can see a deck that duplicates infinite The Darkness 😀
Shaman: Eh, I’d say in a bad spot. A bunch of cool totem synergy, but basic totems are generally not that useful to begin with (besides maybe Spell Power and Taunt), so idk. Bloodlust could make the deck reeeaaally good with sticky minions and such. Could be decent, could flop.
Druid: New Armor synergies. But most likely Jade will stay predominant, with a couple possible switches to the main deck to adapt to the new meta.
Paladin: Silver Hand Recruit deck in wild, anybody? I absolutely loved that deck, and getting a couple new toys to play with is gonna be fun. Besides that, Galvadon Paladin may actually see some play with that Legendary 😀
Warlock: A few new Demon stuffs allowing for Bloodreaver to shine, with a new meme-deck featuring Rin. Handlock sees some lovin’ with the 4-mana 7/7 Taunt at low hps. I reckon it could be good.
Hunter: Probably the worst out of the expansion. Unless No-Minion Hunter sees some high-level play, I don’t reckon it’ll end up being good.

They kept some of the coolest cards to the end!
The tech card against Highlander Priest will change the meta (and hello dragons and storm control priest), which is excellent! It also increases the viability of several ideas that this expansion promotes and that have been discarded… And yes. rogue in the initial phase will be annoying as hell… Also, I do not know which direction shaman is taking… But the new mate will be a breath of fresh air!

Evident is the corridor creeper a beast? I understand that they’re going through and fixing many of the cards on Facebook and that one had a race tag. Otherwise loving what this expansion is shaping up to be!

I love how there are no ‘must-have’ Legendaries in this expansion (Rogue and maybe Druid-weapon excepted).
Spent all my dust on Death Knights.

No freaking doubt about it, in my opinion Hearthstone is suppressing Hunter, time for a revolt >:(

        November 30, 2017 at 2:52 pm

        Half of Hunter cards revealed.
        No Beasts (not even Neutral)!
        No aggro support.
I like Hunter, but playing the same old decks for three more months? No thank you.
        The remaining reveals will tell…

  11. MarmotMurloc
    November 21, 2017 at 8:21 pm

Have you seen the new slime yet? The reveal was in another language, so i couldn’t tell the name.
The demonstration made it clear though. A hunter class 6 cost 5/4 with “reveal a deathrattle minion in your deck, this copies it’s deathrattle.”
Blizzard yet again trying to make deathrattle hunter viable, and who knows ? This expansion might make it so!
The new hunter legendary would work well with this slime if you got lucky! Maybe there will be a whole kind of cheaty hunter deck . Have only one deathrattle minion ( the hunter legendary in kobolds) with these slime to get its ability more common. Then, you build a zoo deck with a couple huge beast, (I.e. The game breaking ultrasaur!) And cheat them out early! The dawn of big hunter!

It might be good to have a kobold keyword as minion indentifier, creating rooms for a tribal deck / interaction in the future expansions. I was expected to see some here.

I doubt it, I’m pretty sure they don’t count in the Knights of the Frozen Throne single-player content.

    November 10, 2017 at 7:30 am

Maybe that’s a dumb question but … is Marin the Fox really a part of the new set? Because he isn’t craftable, I thought that he might not be.

I know that C’Thun is part of ‘Whispers of the Old Gods’ even though everybody got him for free – but you’re able to goldencraft him, in opposition to Marin.

tl;dr: Is Marin occupying a Legendary slot or is it some sort of ‘separate promotional card’?

    • Evident - Author
      November 10, 2017 at 11:05 am

He’s part of the new set, he has the Candle watermark and you can search by expansion in the my collection area and he’s listed under Kobolds. However, you might be right about him not being apart of the 135 new cards, and he’s basically exactly like C’Thun.

    • Jason
      November 17, 2017 at 4:01 pm

Golden Marin cards are a reward for buying a Blizzcon ticket, so the everyman can’t craft them.

No, because it PULLS it from your deck (the same as Y’Shaarj). It removes the card from your deck and throws it into play. This has been confirmed by the dev stream.
