Funny to see how many of the comments complain about the card being useless when nowadays is one of the most important cards to the strongest warlock decks

The 3 1/3 demons can really crew up a Bloodreaver.

but it does not really screw it up, the hero power is the real deal, what bloodreavers lack are instant taunts aside the 2 1/3s which are easy to clear, as it is a 10 mana hero card, it is better to have some stopping power to give you some breathing space when you play the card. hence the 3 1/3s are not necessarily negative.

I can already see this in some crazy Demon N’Zoth deck in wild. Thankfully, the Corruptor is being rotated out of Standard.

Hahaha Old Gods doesn’t rotate until next year, the last two years of expansions are in standard right now: Year of the Mammoth and Year of the Kraken. Old gods won’t rotate out until a new “Year of” is released which will be next expansion.

6 mana value for 9 mana that fails to taunt and gets killed by a 2 mana card.

    Seems good to me

          December 2, 2017 at 12:53 pm

how about poly/hex/doom…oh wait i forgot it works against literally almost every card in the game. With that reasoning Tirion would be shit as well. I agree though the Voidlord seems more on the balanced side which makes it difficult to judge pre-release.

          • Acid
            December 3, 2017 at 1:12 pm

do you see trion as top tier card ? right now in this meta ? or before ? tirion is a value card in a tempo game , and yes its crap if tirion is a reaction to a board its useless if the opponent is unlucky or unloaded all his hex/poly/sap etc. cards on others against a control player’s other threats then its on him. but if you ask me this card is much better than trion since both has the same role (protect face).

Tirion would be good if paladin saw play.

On paper, this is the anti-aggro card to end all other anti-aggro cards, but not only is true aggro not super prominent right now, but this card is played too late to be relevant against true aggro. By turn 9 you’ve either already stabilized or already lost. This also doesn’t play super nice with Warlock DK because it saturates the pool of dead Demons with all these 1/3, which isn’t what you want to see. I don’t even think the Control Warlocks will want this, but there are enough numbers here for me to avoid saying that it will be completely useless.

In Arena, this is a really solid value card. 6/18 for 9 is really good.

    Standard: 2/5
    Arena: 4/5

    • Chillip
      November 27, 2017 at 7:24 am

what are you talking about dude, this is exactly what DK wants, you play DK on 10 no matter if you played demons or not. This however increases the power swing of turn 10 DK dramatically. It’s the same as N’Zoth, you want sticky stalling Taunts to have a more versatile swing card, that can get you back into the game when you’re losing.

      • Imaloony
        November 27, 2017 at 1:05 pm

The problem is that you really, really want your DK to summon two Despicable Dreadlords to get the Consecration effect on the board. If you saturate your pool with 1/3 Demons, you lower your chances of getting those Dreadlords. Don’t get me wrong, getting Voidlord is a great bonus, but Dreadlord is so good on its own that you might not want to risk not getting it. Also, if you’re running Doomguards, you also definitely want to get those rather than the 1/3s.

Because of that, this card has clunky interactions with the DK; it doesn’t automatically synergize as well as you think it does.

        • WookieQt
          November 28, 2017 at 1:47 am

How many times have you played 7 demons before playing your Gul’dan DK? Most only wait for 2 dreadlord. Playing 1-off this card, make take up 4 spots of the board, but they are ALL taunt, if you haven’t played other demons, you are bound to summon your Dreadlords. 4-TAUNT DEMONS! Warlock can stabilize with only 2 Voidwalkers at the moment, and they are giving him a spreading plague

          • Imaloony
            November 28, 2017 at 5:01 pm

Control Warlock runs Voidwalker and Abyssal Enforcer as well, which can more than fill up your board (and that’s assuming your board is empty when you play the DK, which is frequently isn’t). While this card CAN be fantastic to pull out of Bloodreaver as a way to stabilize, it can cut down on the overall value you’re getting from him since all the 1/3s will muscle out the Abyssal Enforcers and Dreadlords, which are the real meat you’re looking for when you play Bloodreaver.

The card isn’t bad. But it isn’t good enough.

            November 29, 2017 at 3:34 pm

@Imaloony man your Gul’dan seems to be the last card of your deck in every match huh. You’re helpless

It’ll be good to close out games against more midrange agro like rogue and make the DK have a lot of stopping power. Vulnerable to silence however and priest shenanigans.

    • CounterPoint
      November 30, 2017 at 8:11 am

You obviously dont play control warlock at all. First of all no one runs doom guard unless they have krul and kazakus because the negative synergy with discards is so bad. Also, most of the time, like 90% of the time you do not have both dreadlords and enforcer dead. But even if you do Voidlord and his small guys only equal 4 so you can still rez all 7. Also, most of the “aggro” decks now are like tempo rogue which kill you much slower and a powerful 9 drop like this is really good. This stops bonemare an Leroy and the lich king in their tracks. Scalebane too. You are really just talking out of your ass

Dudes… Who doesnt run doomguard in control warlock…everyone runs it hahah but yes im the guy who play only wild so there you have voidcaller xd but whoo the fck will play DK to summon fcking 2 demon… And yes i dont wanna board full of voidwalkers….i want malganis doomguard krul voidcaller dreadlord and only one voidwalker… Cause you still have malganis as tount…dk is played when you can summon at least 3 or 4 (in my case min is 4) good demons or if you need that extra 5 armor to survive if you do not have ANY OTHER option… But i have combined n zoth and DK in same deck and i really dont need board full of voidwalkers when i play DK hahaha but we will see whats are the orher unrevealed cards hh you guys play to much standard xd… This is the sam as you play imp gang boss with DK… You will get 1 or 2 good demons and imps xd this 1/3 tounts are easy to kill cause there are many aoe spels/minions that deal 3 or more dmg.. Just wanted to say this minion will save you in some cases but defenetly can fck you up eather 🙂 only deck in i can see this minion is full demon deck 🙂

Cards I don’t like to discard:
          Reno
          N’zoth
          Bloodreaver
          Kaza
          Brann
          Feugen and Stalag

Discarding any of the above 7 cards compleletely ruins my deck, which is why I don’t run discard 2 cards for +1 health and charge. It is way too risky.
Also, I’m happy to fill my board with taunts to stall for my real win condition, n’zoth. (which seems to fare much better against board clears than a board of demons)
Bonus: n’zoth will bring back the 3/9 but not the 1/3’s.

      • Imaloony
        December 1, 2017 at 1:56 pm

I never implied that Control Warlock runs Doomguard. I implied that IF a deck ran Doomguard, they’d much prefer to pull it from Bloodreaver than this card. It’s all in the name of experimentation, which is the name of the game when a new set comes out.

And whether or not you have a bunch of cards dead when you play Bloodreaver all depends on when you draw it and how the game has been going. It might end up being a super late game play for you which is when you absolutely want the most value from it, and getting all those 1/3s will really hurt you. If you do run this, it’d almost certainly be a one-of and no more.

    blizzard why 3 / 9 instead of 4 /8 ???

    • Nightfall
      November 26, 2017 at 3:50 pm

because a 3/9 is the stats of 3 voidwalkers combined. personally I think they really should’ve made it a bit stronger on the attack side of things, but whatever, we’ll see if a 3/9 for 9 mana will see play

Awesome card that you can get from stonehill defender as well
Might make Krull a viable deck finally

  13. hihi
    November 26, 2017 at 12:35 pm

Sounds good on paper but this is prone to aoe and shadow word pain and pint sized potion into the 6 mana 4/5 that takes control of an enemy minion with 2 or less attack (I forget what it’s called)

    • Kyle
      November 26, 2017 at 1:16 pm

Pint sized will be out of standard soon, along with potion of madness. So all in all, the worst thing that could happen is it getting silenced. This makes blood reaver both better because you can get a couple of these massive walls back, or worse because instead you just get back a bunch of 1/3s from the deathrattle, but even that isn’t so bad

          • Kyle
            November 27, 2017 at 12:31 pm

The first expansion in each year will knock out all expansions that started 2 years before it, so the first expansion in 2018 will knock out Gadgetzan and everything before it, since Gadgetzan launched December of 2016 .

          • SIgh
            November 27, 2017 at 12:31 pm

WOTG and karazan move out, not gadgetzan

          • Kyle
            November 27, 2017 at 12:39 pm

I worded that a bit awkwardly, essentially 1st expansion in 2018 knocks out every expansion made in 2016 unless blizzard states otherwise, which I doubt they will. Blizzard likely wants people to forget about jade Druid and how people are tired of playing against it.

Old Gods, Karazan, and Gadgetzan all rotate next year
and we will be left with Un’goro, Frozen Throne, and Kobolds
Im glade Gadgetzan is rotating I can’t last 1 more year of Patches and Jades

This is exactly what we needed to make krul viable, sadly it’s a little late. It’ll make him better in wild though.

  15. af
    November 26, 2017 at 10:55 am

I feel its another midrange shutdown card. In case you do not have twisting nether you can stall with this. And when you draw nzoth, guldan you can stall even more until you get your TN. Against aggro its slow, but warlock is not the worst against aggro with defile and other low cost spells, hard removals and small heals. Only needs to find something to out value control and control lock could be a thing again.

  16. PurifiedAzure
    November 26, 2017 at 9:14 am

Usually i hate late game deathrattle cards just becuase that’s when players hold their single removal cards carefully, and i have few exceptions to cards like that: obsidian statue is one example. I don’t think this card is as strong as obsidian statue, but i do think that it could be near its level of playability. It’s a demon so i think it will be great for bloodreaver decks. N’zoth decks could use some taunts to summon. Summoning this or adding this to your hand by a generaring effect like bane of doom or kabal trafficker would be awesome. I think this card could pull demonlock decks into meta once more.

    • Vo1dBoy
      November 26, 2017 at 10:49 am

I agree, this will be good against many Meta Decks, and it can also help with trying to play the Rin Seals to get Azari without taking fatal damage.

THIS CARD IS NUTS ! It reminds me of Sludge belcher, this card alone shuts down aggro !

    • Skyler
      November 26, 2017 at 8:54 am

If you’re at turn 9 against aggro, you’ve probably won anyways. It’s a lategame defensive card which is a very strange combo. You usually want early game defense against aggro, and lategame value against control. This is the opposite in both instances.

Don’t care about that ChocoCunt XD, i was not saying Voidlord is “good” against aggro. What i was trying to say is that if the game somehow progresses until turn 9 it’s a nail in the coffin.
PS: ur right most aggro decks don’t run silences because i play against alot of them on Legend.

    • Killy
      November 27, 2017 at 5:37 am

Sluge belcher was at least still a 5 mana 3/5 if it got silenced. This one is a dead card for the longest time in a game and if it get silenced its pretty much 9 mana do nothing (cool u have a 3/9 left for value trade that doesn’t matter at this point in the game). i think a 9 mana card needs impact on the board and this one doesn’t do it.

Eating this with carnivorous cube seems quite fun. You could have a paradise full of taunts (and would probably not even have remotely enough space on board). It might be too slow and too expansive, but seems fun nonetheless.

    • MarmotMurloc
      November 26, 2017 at 12:27 pm

I have to admit, it would be worth it to run those two cards just to stall the game for another couple turns, even if to was too slow normally. The risk would be silencing the cube would take away a lot of value, but other than that this would be awesome!

  20. UkuleleLover
    November 26, 2017 at 8:14 am

I trried out a deathrattle demon deck once(N’Zoth and Bloddreaver Guldan), and this card would be very interesting in it. It looks very powerful for an epic.

  21. BrokenGlass
    November 26, 2017 at 7:57 am

This could work well in a kind of deck like big Priest, but it would be Big Warlock. Run all the big demons like Mal’ganis, Jaraxxus, Krul, Despicable Dreadlord, and doomgaurd. Also run big things Y-shaarj, Lich King, & Ysera and Barnes. You would obviously run Bloodreaver Gul’dan, and fill the rest of the deck with spells…

  22. Haha
    November 26, 2017 at 7:47 am

Nice with n’zoth rather then DK..hahahah i dont wanna 3 or 4 voidwalkers with DK… I want my mal’ganis doom guard etc.

    • DyingHawk
      November 26, 2017 at 7:50 am

often times in my warlock deck gul’dan only pulls two or three demons, it isn’t bad off gul’dan at all, especially with some of the bad demons warlock runs just to activate gul’dan getting replaced with this. Also, 6/18 for 9 that can’t get hard removed is pretty insane. Extra value if you gul’dan than N’zoth, maybe can out value razakus or jade druid.

  23. DyingHawk
    November 26, 2017 at 7:47 am

I love this card in Bloodreaver decks Great for blocking off your opponents bonemare without playing too much into vilespine and comes back with full value off gul’dan, great kazakus or standard control warlock card.

    • MarmotMurloc
      November 26, 2017 at 12:17 pm

THIS IS THE ULTIMATE STALL CARD IF YOU’RE OPPONENT IS USING MINIONS TO KILL YOU.ALSO BLOOD REAVER GULDAN IS DISGUSTING.(it is 9 mana and the 1/3 minions can block you from getting better demons out but HOLY HELLFIRE this card is disgusting).
