Can easily see this in fatigue druid, works well with curator. 2 Coldlight + 2 of these + 2 primordials would make for solid value. Best case pulls 2 infested taurens, worst case doomsayers maybe? Don’t see beast druid coming back anytime soon or any midranged druid deck by that…

Overall, very niche card imo and only really used if power level of 4- slots are high enough to pull from it

Pull Fandral or Tar Creeper with this… or a Chillwind Yeti 🙂

Do you happen to have the link for the cards to be retired?

The next rotation is in April. So Fandral will still be in standard after this expansion.

noone plays it and so many cards are bad with silence, that’s not even a reason.

Wait silence is a thing? Lemme start taking out all taunt, divine shield, death rattle, lifesteal, end of turn effect, etc minions out of my deck. Just plain old vanilla and battlecry cards for me because of silence.

I think this could be decent in a control druid that is running Hadronox and N’Zoth (although you could never play 8, 9, 10 like that on curve because of how the effects work). You’d want this to hit double senjin shieldmaster consistently so your early mana curve would be made up of spells, like the 2,4,6 damage 1 drop spell with some armor gain/removal/mana ramp. Maybe not full taunt synergy with the 4 drop that buffs taunts because of this card, but you could have other decent combos with Spreading Plague and the new 4 cost spell that buffs attack/draws/gain armor. With so many spells, you’d run arcane giant and possibly Yogg. That deck could work, or it could suck, I think it’s too early to call. This card clearly doesn’t work in any current meta decks.

Literally most of the cards that we have seen so far could have been so much better if their deathrattle effects were just battlecries. The warlock legendary was one clear example and this is another. I know that the hesrthetone team test cards before they decide their stat line and effects but this card would have been perfect if its deathrattle effect was a battlecry instead. If this card gets silenced it us literally a 8-mana sen’jin without taunt. Now a 8-mana sen’jin that recruits 2 minions that cost (4) or less would be definitely useful and not even that overpowered conpared to other 8-drops. And even if that idea would be too powerful, make the effect like the hunter legendary where it would recruit one minion as a battlecry and then another in its deathrattle. If there are more cards like this there is going to be alot of silence effects in people’s decks.

8-mana Sen’jin + two 4-drops if you build around the card. Now looking at Druid 4-drops (taking the absolute best scenario for theorization purposes), Fandral is the only notable minion, with the others having sub-par effects and/or bodies and mostly relying on Battlecry. Fandral is also a somewhat bad drop as you usually want to combo him in one turn instead of letting your opponent have the chance to kill. On neutral drops, you have Hungry Dragon being best in terms of stats and probably Arfus + Spiritsinger Umbra for best effects (which also coincide with each other lol). I mean, 12-mana worth of stats seems pleasing, but the card is simply too underwhelming unless you build your deck around the card. Meh.

Am I missing something here? Senjin body that can bring in two more 4 drops? Druid has ramp. Jade druid is a thing. There is definitely a place for this in druid control.

Well jade druid only has about one four drop you would want from this, which is fandral. The other four drops or less being mire keeper, spell breaker and/or mc tech. You generally dont want to recruit those because of their battlecries. So this card doesnt look too appealing for jade druid. Maybe it could work in control druid, but there are just so many better 8 drops than this, so probly not.
      TLDR; this card sucks.

When someone sees a new druid card and immediately tries to fit it in Jade Druid and because it doesn’t fit in Jade Druid it’s bad.

people are really underrating this card, the taunt is super useful with deathrattle i think this will see play, no question.

Ramp doesn’t change, that the stats are crappy and the card sucks.

Or wonder if the recruit get’s played directly when it dies or on your own turn?
