Deck Import

This is an awesome looking deck! There’s elements of Freeze and Echo Mage, but with that Summoning Stone twist. We even get a very rare Flame Lance appearance, that not only provides strong removal, but makes great use of Summoning Stone. People are initially flocking to Mage with summoning stone due to its ability to lock down the board and get value out of the card.

Senfglas used this deck on the legendary ladder to climb from 400+ to top 150! Watch him play it here.

Update: -1 Loot Hoarder, -1 Illuminator, -1 Flame Lance, +1 Acolyte of Pain, +2 Sludge Belcher

So much for Flame Lance! It looks like some extra protection for the face and Summoning Stone was needed so in goes Sludge Belcher!

How do you feel about Raafam instead of Ysera?

You can’t replace acolyte of pain it is crucial for drawing cards. Sorry

Any idea how to replace echo of Mediv?

Maybe just second Loot Hoarder and Acolyte of Pain. The Mage Secrets Duplicate or Effigy kind-of replace the card, but you probably would lose out on survivability and consistency with Mad Scientist.

Just played a game against a secret paladin who used 2 divine favors to pick up most of his deck. I managed to outlast him anyway with freezing up the wazoo and had him drawing no cards for 3 turns at the end there. I was forced to echo my 1 healbot twice to keep me in it but I didn’t manage win anyway. He still snuck through enough damage on the final swing an caught me without any removal. Was a fun game I guess but I am pretty sure this deck hasn’t beaten a single paladin. I think I’ll just start conceding at the site of palidins. Every other matchup seems favorable thus far. Havent seen a handlock yet so still wondering on that one.

i actually made a pally kill himself with his card draw, i had full hand his was empty and that was his last card in deck/hand

Played a bunch more now. Getting better with the deck. I can control my hand and board a bit more efficiently now. Even found that a stolen stone aint really the end of the world vs priests once you go into blizzard/flamestrike mode.

I do think the secrets paladin is the worst matchup. Once they draw that 6/6 guy, its over. I would guess only way to win that one is if those 2 are on the bottom of the deck.

I had no problem at all with secret pally, they assumed they had board control.. but not the case pallies = no problem

Also seeing lots of controlling priests out there that keep stealing my stones with cabal priests and killing my doom sayers with Word of Pain.

Played this deck a bunch today. I love the stone effect. The hand size cap and the limitations to minions on field make me sad when playing the deck though. I always feel like I am up against the hand cap and sometimes find that with echo and free minions, I am sometimes against the minion cap with 0 power minions.

This is a super slow deck. The Summoning Stones don’e even have time to get into play.

Just go with a second Loot Hoarder or Acolyte, but it will be tough without both Doomsayers.

Senfglas posted an updated version on Reddit that took out 1 Loot Hoarder and Flame Lance for 2 Sludge Belchers. It also had an Acolyte of Pain, I believe, but can’t remember what was swapped for it.

    This deck is absolutely phenomenal.

Og course, there is the odd bad mulligan, and sometimes the cards just don’t seem to come out but for the most part, it just plays itself.

turns 1-3, scientist, loot hoarders to get to cards and blocks out while picking off there early minions
Turn 4 stall with Cone of cold
Turn 5 *IF* the threats is developping that early, nova-doomsayer
    Turn 6 blizzard
    Turn 7 flametrike
turn 8 If the board is right, stone + spell, if not nova/blizzard + doom
    and BOOM!!!!
Turn 9 stone+echo and let the hurt rain down on your opponent.

Games don’t always turn out like this but most do 🙂

    Fun fun fun

Totally agree, i got the deck complete. But i swapped flamestrike for a taunt slime since there are many aoe (freeze) and thus most of the time i dont need a high solo atk damage, i change it with polimorph into a sheep. I do need to protect the stones/doomslayer.

I might try a different deck if you don’t have Doomsayer.

The Summoning Stones are the whole point! I would wait until you get them to play this deck.

Ok, this deck is completely unplayable for me, and I rarely have such a problem. The Summoning Stones come just too late. And even if they’re not killed out right I can’t really combo them up with spells. Really dissapointed by this. 🙁

Nefarian would have synergy with Summoning Stone, so I’d likely try that.
