Best Hearthstone Decks to Ladder with in October 2016 (Season 31, Standard)

It’s time to take a look at the best decks for laddering in October 2016 (Season 31). I will be likely altering this list a bit more once the card nerfs are released, however, these are the decks that are currently strongest for each class.

Update (10-15-16): I’ve just updated this list to reflect the nerfs and how the meta has shifted!

Also, here’s the card back you’ll receive for making it to Rank 20!

Best Hearthstone Ladder Decks for October 2016 (Season 31, Standard)

I’ve listed the best decks for each class, it doesn’t mean that the deck is going to kill it on the ladder, but that it is likely the best for the class. A class like Priest at the moment is bottom tier, so while you’ll be playing with Priest’s best deck it doesn’t mean it you will be able to climb reliably.

Best Druid Decks

Malygos Druid is in the running for best deck in the game currently.
Similar to Malygos Druid, but instead of relying on damage from spells it uses Tokens to finish off the opponent.
Beast Druid might make a bit of a comeback with all of the nerfs on the horizon. Muzzy actually got to rank 1 legend with this version in the middle of last season.

Best Hunter Decks

A faster version of Secret Hunter that doesn’t rely on the recently nerfed Call of the Wild.
If you’re looking for something a bit different than the midrange and hybrid Hunter then Secret Hunter might be a nice change of pace!

Best Mage Decks

Freeze Mage has picked up quite a bit on the ladder due to less Warriors and a strong matchup with Midrange Shaman.
If you want to stick it to the Shaman’s on the ladder then Tom’s Aggro Freeze Mage might be the list for you. It pairs aggressive early game elements with the ability to stall the board and push heavy damage with spells.
Tempo Mage is one of the stronger Mage decks available.

Best Paladin Decks

One of the premiere combo decks in the game at the moment. It can be hard to play, and the ladder isn’t in a great place for this deck to shine, but it’s still a solid list!
Secret Paladin is still a solid deck no matter how many people still hate it!

Best Priest Decks

It’s tough out there for Priest at the moment, but here’s a recent list that Zetalot has been running.
Resurrect Priest is a decent deck, but don’t expect to make much progress in the higher ladder ranks!

Best Rogue Decks

Rogue’s in a pretty tough spot but can still climb with Miracle variants.
A more combo reliant version of Miracle Rogue that centers around damage with Malygos.
Now that the nerfs have hit, this Deathrattle Rogue might have a place on the ladder.

Best Shaman Decks

Midrange Shaman is currently the best deck in the game. It has only a few bad matchups and even those aren’t terribly unfavored.
This is a Midrange Shaman variant that can still do work on the ladder, but is different enough to warrant a separate spot on the list.

Best Warlock Decks

The Discard version of Warlock Zoo has taken over as the most popular type of Zoo!
Renolock has had a bit of a resurgence with the recent nerfs to decks like Aggro Shaman.

Best Warrior Decks

Control Warrior is one of the few decks that has a decent matchup against Midrange Shaman.
C’Thun Warrior is not super popular, but is still a pretty strong list.
The tried and true Dragon Warrior continues to be one of the strong decks in the meta

Thanks for the lists, these really help with the classes I am weaker with.

Im surprised that Midrange Hunter isn’t on this list. It’s still a pretty decent deck even after the Call of the Wild nerf. And Midrange Hunter is probably the best Hunter deck still.

They were very end of season 30 decks so they were still viable for season 31. This did remind me that I needed to update this so thanks!
