Odd Rogue Deck List Guide - Rastakhan's Rumble - March 2019
It’s really hard to say, the card is both powerful and very risky. If I had to guess, I’d say that it should see play even after the meta stabilizes, but I’d still wait a bit – the card is not necessary right now, you can play Rogue without it, and in case it ends up being cut, you won’t waste your Dust needlessly.

Definitely, it’s a good tech card right now if you’re playing Aggro. Often takes the place of Spellbreaker, at least until Spreading Plague rotates out or gets nerfed again ๐

Thank you, I appreciate that!
Yes, Maly Druid is somewhat countered by weapon destruction, but no one is really running it right now. And the new Legendary – Flobbidinous Floop – made the deck viable even after the weapon gets destroyed. You can play Maly one turn, and then drop the Floop’s copy with Swipe + 2x Moonfire next turn for 21 damage. Not as good as full combo, but you don’t get completely countered by weapon destruction. On top of that, if more people would run weapon destruction, Malygos Druid would generally switch over to Dreampetal Florist. It’s not as good (doesn’t give you full 10 mana and needs you to only have Maly in hand to 100% hit him), but it’s eonugh.
As for the Spellbreaker, it’s not that uncommon. Right now it’s in ~15% of the decks on the ladder. There are also some Owls, Earth Shocks and Mass Dispels – in total, some form of SIlence is played by roughly 25% of the decks right now. Which isn’t really that bad for a tech option. On top of that, I wouldn’t say that there are “so many” Magnetic cards being played. Mechs, while they have their place in the current early meta, are not THAT popular. Two most popular Magnetic cards – Zilliax and Wargear – are in 13% and 11% of the decks respectively.
What’s worth mentioning too is that tech cards get more popular a bit later into the expansion. Right now it’s hard to target specific decks when they are changing everyday, so lots of folks decide to just not tech at all. When the meta is more stable and you know exactly what you want to counter, how many people play it etc. then you can use tech cards more reliably.

Thank you! Both of the decks are really fun. It’s always nice to play around with something new ๐

Please do share it, sounds interesting!
SteveD's #1 Legend Boomsday Even Warlock
It’s a tech card, because Legend ladder is full of all kinds of Warlocks. It can really win that matchup – destroying a minion for 0 mana AND healing for 5 is massive. When you don’t face Warlock, you usually use it to sacrifice your own minion when you need healing, or against whatever they got from Demonic Project.
Notably, some Neutral minions like Void Ripper or Witchwood Piper are also Demons, so they can be targets too.

Zilliax is good if you run a more Mech-heavy list with Kangor’s Endless Army (the buff carrying through resurrect is pretty big). It’s a bit too defensive in this list, though.

I’ve changed the deck list anyway, try to do it right now!

We’ll be updating budget decks soon. It’s hard to update them when we don’t know what’s good and what isn’t yet, though. Give us a week or two!
Updated: Dog's OTK Topsy Turvy Priest - Boomsday Project
Because you never get to attack with it, it doesn’t have Charge. You OTK with the Boar, and Topsy Turvy is enough to flip its attack and health so you can kill your opponent.
Evolve Token Shaman Deck List Guide (The Storm Bringer) - Boomsday - August 2018
Do you have his list anywhere? When rating Arcane Dynamo, I said that the card can be good in certain decks that always look for X specific cards. In this case, it might be good, because even if you don’t hit The Storm Bringer, you can also hit Bloodlust, which is another great card. But I dislike the fact that it’s soooo freakin’ slow. 6 mana 3/4 is a massive tempo loss. If it costed 5 mana or something, then I would seriously consider adding it into a few decks.
But, we’ll start playtesting everything quite soon, we’ll see which cards work and which simply don’t!
Evolve Token Shaman Deck List Guide (The Storm Bringer) - Boomsday - August 2018
I have to disagree. Yes, by itself is not a vanilla minion, but after one Overload card it already becomes a great 4 mana minion in a token-focused deck like that. You would absolutely play a 4 mana 3/5, which summons 2x 1/1 with Rush. Any more overload cards and it’s basically broken. So you basically just shouldn’t look at it like at a 4-drop. Violet Teacher also costs 4 mana, is bad on curve, and yet it’s played in Token Druid. 2 activations of Violet Teacher (which is I’d say the average outcome) is still worse than a single activation here (again, probably average outcome), because here the minions get Rush.
I would argue that it’s almost a build-around card, it’s worth to make the rest of your deck a little less optimal just to activate it. It might be too slow in an Aggro version, but in a more Midrange version like this one, it’s like a godsend for Shaman.
But, right now it’s just opinion vs opinion. Luckily the expansion will be out pretty soon, so we’ll just see whether it does or does not work ๐

I talk about Corridor Creeper a bit in the last paragraph of the overview/strategy section, I think that it might fit well into a deck like that, it’s just a matter of testing which cards underperform and need to be cut. Right now it’s really hard to say, but I suspect that the final version would include the Creeper.
Whizbang the Wonderful Deck Recipes List - Descent of Dragons Decks, Hero Power, Golden Decks, & More!
But that still leaves lots of problems, like lack of predictability and unnecessary RNG. In the end, competitive is meant to be serious – you want to make a skillful decision about your deck choice, and your opponent picking Whizbang against you kind of denies that, because you never know what you will be playing against. In my opinion, it simply creates more problem than it solves. And since it’s not a good card anyway, I don’t think there’s any harm done in just banning it. So far I haven’t seen a pro being seriously upset with that decision (on the contrary, most of them are happy), only the regular players, who don’t partake in official tournaments anyway (and keep in mind that Whizbang can still be available in non-official tournaments, where organizers make up their own rules – that includes tournaments widely available to amateurs).
But now since we KNOW that they CAN ban cards in tournament, I hope that they will go ahead and ban some problematic cards, like Yogg was in the past. If we get a card that’s fine in Constructed, but not fine in tournament, banning it from competitive play is a better option than nerfing it.

I talk about it in the first paragraph of the overview.

Uhhh sorry, that’s true, for some reason I started thinking about Obsidian Statue. Thanks, fixed it.
Malygos Shaman Deck List Guide (Electra Stormsurge) - Boomsday - August 2018
How would you see the Zola thing, though? You don’t have enough mana to play Electra + Zola + Eureka! in the same turn, even after the discount on Electra.
And if you mean that you can play Electra + Eureka one turn, and then Zola on the next, it’s also not good. You DON’T want any minions besides Malygos in your hand when you play Eureka, it would be terrible to play Eureka and summon Zola.
And Lava Burst would deal 15, not 25. Yeah, it might be useful, but it’s hard to fit another burn card.

Since I can’t really measure the realistic power level of those decks yet, I’m just trying to come up with some interesting stuff! Most of the theorycrafts won’t work past the first few, chaotic days of the expansion – for example, I don’t have incredibly high hopes for this one. But the thing is, no new decks would be found if people wouldn’t experiment ๐
Whizbang the Wonderful Deck Recipes List - Descent of Dragons Decks, Hero Power, Golden Decks, & More!
It makes a lot of sense. First of all, you can normally only bring one deck of a certain class – e.g. if you play Even Warlock, you can’t play Zoo. Whizbang gives you a random deck, so it might give you the same class second time.
Then, you often have to submit decks before playing and they’re publicized – Whizbang is random, so you can’t really submit a deck you will play (because you don’t know).
Then, the bans. How would you handle that? You ban one of your opponent’s classes, with Whizbang you don’t know what class you will be playing against.
It also doesn’t really work with Last Hero Standing format, where you have to play with the same deck until you lose with it. You will be basically breaking the rules, as you won’t be playing with the same deck even if you queue Whizbang deck again..
On top of everything, it adds an extra layer of unnecessary RNG. One of the biggest things in tournaments is planning your line-up against what you think your opponents will bring, then doing the correct bans and picking the right decks to counter whatever your opponent will be playing. And now imagine a pro player doing all that work, banning the class his line-up is countered by just for Whizbang to roll a terrible matchup. HS already has enough RNG as it is, no need to add more to the competitive scene.
So basically, it creates a lot of small problems like that. It’s better to just ban it instead of changing the rules around a card that is bad in competitive anyway.
That’s right, Giggling Inventor helps a bit, but it’s still bad vs Aggro.
It destroys slower decks, though, so that balances out.
