My personal experience with the ‘new’ Arena is that the gap between totally broken decks and piles of trash is even bigger than before. Most of the time, that leads to very lopsided games (either for me or my opponent) and that is not very enjoyable.

Tbh, I liked it better when every deck was the nuts. 😉 But I understand Pros like Kripp who want a more distinguishable format compared to Standard.

I’d like to once again mention the Fiery War Axe and Hex nerfs.

There will be no strong cheap spells for Mage in the near future. Mage is chosen to be the new bottom class, period.

You know what – HS is a digital game. So why not make that totally ‘risky’ move and just do it. If 1 mana 2/2 is too oppressive (pretty good chance it is), then just nerf it again…

Oh wait – I totally forgot how complicated it is to implement all those nerfs … well then, no risks. Just do another dull ‘change the mana cost’-nerf. :/

Many commentators seem to think that Mana Wyrm is nerfed because of powerful new Mage spells in the new expansion … may I kindly remind you of Fiery War Axe and Hex? What will happen is that Mage is dead for the next expansions. Well, any class has to take that role sometimes, I guess. :/

As for Giggles: 5 Mana 2/2 summon 1 Annoy-o-Tron would be more adequate in my eyes.

As for Aviana: Spot on and very elegant solution for the Juicy Psychmelon dilemma. In Wild, that is. I’m very glad they do actually care for Wild ‘balance’ – now just nerf Barnes, please.

There are dragon builds that work out (read: are capable of laddering).

Wild: Every NON-Standard card is legal.

That way, two completely different sets of cards are available. To be honest, I’m not sure if that creates 2 different play experiences but it is HS we’re talking about, so how different can those 2 modes be?

The bundle will change. Right now, you’ll get a random class legendary. In the future, you’ll get a random dragon from the ones shown.

Played 12 games of ‘new’ Arena by now. Played against Giggling Inventor 12 times.

Of course, didn’t get to pick it for myself in the 3 drafts I did so far..

So much fun. 😀
