Shop Update: Whizbang’s Workshop Pre-Purchase, New & Returning Skins, Signature Bundles, Battlegrounds Cosmetics

Another shop update dropped today! (Technically yesterday but I didn’t have time to post about it because of all the other news) It’s a really big update with all kinds of cosmetics and bundles for both Constructed and Battlegrounds. You can also now pre-purchase the upcoming Whizbang’s Workshop expansion… and here’s the problem. Pre-purchasing it gives you early access to Corridor Sleeper Epic card. Players who don’t buy it now won’t be able to play the card for over a month. And that’s completely unacceptable and something we should push against. It seems that this card isn’t particularly powerful (at least so far), so it might not be a problem now, but imagine if it was meta-defining and you couldn’t play it unless you pre-purchased. That’s something that should NOT be happening. I’ve already given more detailed feedback to Blizzard and Old Guardian will cover the topic in detail on our website later this week. Anyway, I hope that they change their mind and it won’t ruin the hype around what seems to be a really fun expansion. Here are all of the new items that are available this week:

Tier 1 skins are “premium” ones while Tier 2 are more basic. In general, Tier 1 skins tend to include more extra features like completely new emotes, Hero Power animations, and some extra visual effects. Some of those might be also included in Tier 2 skins, but usually only 1 of those special features is present (if any). It’s not an official classification – it’s just something we use to differentiate between more basic and premium skins! Blizzard has added their own “rarities” for Battlegrounds skins, but they haven’t done it so far for Constructed (the only one is Legendary with 3D animated portraits).

New items usually stay in the shop for around 2-3 weeks – sometimes it’s longer (4 or more weeks) and very rarely it’s shorter (a week).
