Another shop update dropped today yesterday (as usual, I didn’t have time to post it during expansion lanuch)! As usual, new set means a huge shop update with lots of new items. Some are really nice deals, others… not so much. In particular, we have the new Darkmoon Faire Treasures “event”, in which King Krush Pet is the main prize. There are 10 prizes in total and the first “roll” is free, but here’s the catch – rewards have weight and King Krush is 1 in 1000 (so 0.1% chance to get it at first). If you read my other posts about it, the whole “event” reeks of gambling and tries to obfuscate the fact that most of players will need to spend $158 to get the pet. Because of that, I wouldn’t recommend participating unless you’re okay with spending that much. Anyway, here are all of the new items that are available this week:
- The Lost City of Un’Goro Tavern Pass (2000 Runestones or $20) – Access to the paid rewards track, which contains XP boosters, card packs, a few Golden/Signature/Diamond cards, as well as lots of cosmetics. You can find a full list here.
- Darkmoon Faire Treasures (all rolls cost 15,800 Runestones or $158) – Each roll gives you a random prize, from 1 Golden Un’Goro pack or Common Signature Card, all the way to King Krush Pet. First roll is free, then the cost increases each time. Rewards are weighted – for example, on your first roll you have 30% chance to get Common Signature, 28% to get a pack, 2.5% chance to get Signature Opu the Unseen, and only 0.1% chance to get the pet. You can find a full list of odds here (under “Darkmoon Faire Treasures” tab).
- Diamond Gonk Bundle (2500 Runestones or $25) – New Diamond Hunter skin + 3 Hunter card packs + 2 Golden Standard card packs.
- Bonedigger Arfus Bundle (1000 Runestones or $10) – New Tier 2 Death Knight skin + 5 Death Knight card packs.

- The Lost City of Un’Goro Bundle Rank 1 (2000 Runestones or $20) – 2 random Legendary cards from Emerald Dream + 10 Lost City of Un’Goro card packs + 10 Standard card packs. It’s a ranked bundle but I don’t know what rank 2 and 3 look like.
- Golden The Lost City of Un’Goro Bundle Rank 1 (4000 Runestones or $40) – 1 random Signature Legendary card from Lost City of Un’Goro + 12 Golden Lost City of Un’Goro card packs. It’s a ranked bundle but I don’t know what rank 2 and 3 look like.

Tier 1 skins are “premium” ones while Tier 2 are more basic. In general, Tier 1 skins tend to include more extra features like completely new emotes, Hero Power animations, unique Hero tray, or some extra visual effects. Some of those might also be included in Tier 2 skins, but usually only 1 of those special features is present (if any). It’s not an official classification – it’s just something we use to differentiate between more basic and premium skins! Blizzard has added their own “rarities” for Battlegrounds skins, but they haven’t done it so far for Constructed (other than Diamond & Legendary Heroes).
New items usually stay in the shop for around 1-2 weeks – sometimes it’s longer (3 or more weeks) but I wouldn’t universally count on that, so if you’re interested in one of them, get them soon.

Just FYI; recently Blizzard has indeed been distinguishing between “Tier 1” and “Tier 2” skins.
“Tier 1” skins are referred to as “lite skins”; you can click on the field reashercher Elize in the DMF game client to see this. “Tier 2” skins have been classified as “Full skins” as can be seen in the tavern pass refresh article: https://hearthstone.blizzard.com/en-us/news/24215170/the-lost-city-of-un-goro-rewards-track-refresh where they again use the “lite skin” terminology.
Just saying it as the disclaimer at the bottom is no longer true.
Sorry for only just replying but your comment was caught in the filter, probably for having the link.
Thanks for letting me know, I somehow haven’t even noticed it. I’m glad that Blizzard started to distinguish them in-game. I’ll use the “lite” and “full” skin nomenclature from now on then 🙂
