Rise of Shadows Single Player Announcement Coming May 9

Fans of Hearthstone have come to expect a single player experience with each and every Hearthstone expansion. Usually this has come about a week after launch, but Rise of Shadows has been different. We’re now almost a full month out from when the set first went live on the Hearthstone servers. Needless to say, this has left fans wondering where the single player campaign is.

The community was under the impression that they’d hear something by the end of April, but that has officially come and gone as of today. A reddit user took the opportunity to ask when we’ll finally see the content come out, let alone an explanation as to what it is.

Game Designer Dave Kosak took the opportunity to let everyone know that May 9 is the date where we’ll finally hear what’s in store.

Glad to hear you’re interested in the new single player campaign! We wanted to give everyone a few weeks after the expansion before talking about it more, but stick around, here’s the plan:

Next week on Thursday May 9th we’ll post a video where Mission Designer Giovanni Scarpati will walk you through all the stuff to come. We’ll also be announcing the launch date (don’t worry – it’s soon!). There’s a LOT to talk about, we’re pretty fired up about it. Stay tuned for more!

Check back then as we’ll be sure to let you know all of the information you need to know about the Rise of Shadows single player experience!

  1. […] While Rise of Shadows is out for a month now, there’s still one important piece missing – PvE content. This time it should be bigger than anything we’ve seen before, and it’s coming out soon! From what we’ve learned already, it should be announced in 2 days, on May 9 (more info here). […]

Am I the only person who thinks it’s INSANE the we have to wait over a month after the expansion has released for the single player content to just be ANNOUNCED? It’s absurd that they aren’t released at the same time, while the expansion hype is still there. I’d rather have the expansion pushed back than wait for what will likely be close to 2 months for the adventure.

Good things take time to form, my friend. In this case, we are lucky enough to know that there is not much time till next… christmas!

I mean they already pad it out with each wing taking a week to be unlocked. Why didnt they do what they did with knights of the frozen throne, and have the first wing available at the start of the expansion then unlock a new one each week instead of stalling all of that by a MONTH

I think the delay is fine. Spacing out the releases sucks now, but Year of the Dragon is plenty of fresh content anyway. Better to space out the releases and give the game a second wind later on, than to have a flood of content right as the expansion releases and then nothing for 4 months.

Not having the 15 packs from the single player mode is a problem, to be sure. But I’m having plenty of fun with Play mode, still. I can wait a couple more weeks for the Solo Adventure.

that’s crap. it should have been out no later than 1 week after the expansion released.
i was planning to get single player modes with my gold, and as you know, finishing these game modes gives you packs. thus, i did not bought any card packs with my gold. there are plenty of people who’s planning to do this.
but it’s been 1 month already and i don’t have the cards i want/need for the ladder while most of the players got the cards they need and they are climbing up by beating players like me.

I was thinking the same, but then thought I needed the cards straight away. Will buy the single player with Real Money (after all, the devs have to eat).

You can climb the ladder easily with tempo rogue or token druid. You almost dont need new cards to do that. If i’m not mistaken you just need 2 new RoS epics for each deck (the weapon for rogue – wagle pick – and the 8-mana cost epic that summons 5 2/2 tokens for druid).

the 8 man cost spell is a rare not epic. Pretty cheap deck to climb, struggles with control warrior tho if you dont have a nuts opening

I struggle against Control Warrior anyway – it’s so hard not to just click “concede” to avoid the tedium of playing against it. I’m not even sure how good a deck it is as I’ve generally lost the will to live by about turn 5.

            Token Druid beats Control Warrior

Most of the time token druid beats control warrior however, there are plenty of ways in which control warrior can win the match up

      Yes!

In fact, your comment is so right that should probably receive a more complete answer. So, let me think about it and stay tuned for the announcement of the date in which I will give you such answer.

Shame on you! You are trolling the announcer’s announcement. He has so clearly announced the exact day of the announcement’s announcement, where he will announce when the solo adventure will be official announced as a ready to go adventure. Easy!
