Pro & Streamer Post Nerf Deck List Roundup

The nerfs have been released and we’re seeing some interesting lists start to take shape. Early on I’m seeing quite a bit of Eater of Secrets tech to counter Exodia Mage, but I’m also seeing Prince Keleseth gain in popularity as it fits in Aggro Pirate Warrior but also can make it in Aggro/Tempo Rogue. Here’s a roundup of some of the standout lists I’ve seen in the first day or so.

Druid

I know people might be dreading it, but it’s unlikely Jade Druid is going anywhere. Whether or not Innervate makes the list is the biggest question currently. Rdu was also playing some Aggro Token Druid which was finding some success.

Hunter

One of the classes that is likely to gain the most from the nerfs. Asmodai got #1 prior to the patch with his Hunter list, but he has followed that up with grabbing the spot again after the nerf!

Mage

Mage was another class we expected would gain from the nerfs. Exodia Mage will see increased played because it has a good matchup against Highlander Priest, but it is very susceptible to Eater of Secrets. Mage’s best option will likely be Secret Tempo Mage.

Windello’s Secret Giants Mage looks pretty fun by the way:

Paladin

I’m on the lookout for some post-nerf Paladin lists, but I haven’t seen too many yet. I still consider Murloc Paladin a strong list, and Handbuff Paladin didn’t get hit by the nerf which will likely still be strong options. I’ll hopefully have Paladin lists to add later in the day.

Priest

Highlander Priest is seeing an increase in play, but be on the watch for Big and Silence Priest to also make more appearances on the ladder.

Rogue

Aggro/Tempo Rogue was picking up a little steam prior to the nerfs so don’t be surprised to see it catch on now that the nerfs are live. Miracle Rogue is also going to see a lot of early play.

Shaman

While Hex got nerfed it was pretty obvious that Evolve Shaman that doesn’t run the card would likely be increasing in play. This will especially be the case if Hunter starts to gain in popularity as it has a strong matchup against it.

Warlock

Warlock wasn’t that strong prior to the nerf, and while it didn’t get hit by any of it, I’m not sure it’s going to be strong enough to increase in play. I did see this Zoo list, but it’s still too early to predict whether or not the class will see more play.

Warrior

If you thought Pirate Warrior was dead you are likely going to be disappointed. While it won’t have the Weapon damage it did previously, adding Prince Keleseth will increase the survivability of its minions and allow it to continue to go face. Not too surprising, but Fibonacci is still rocking the Control Warrior list but with changes to compensate for the Fiery War Axe nerf.

The meta is literally faster than Un’goro. What are the team5 guys doing?

Uh oh. This can’t be what Team 5 was hoping for 2 1/2 days in… on Metastats the cheapest deck on the list – Midrange Hunter – has hit #2 on the list!

I think pirate warrior is still good atm, better than hunter. You can still see a lot of it on the ranked play still

So far the most obvious casualty since the nerf was announced has been active players on my friends list. 🙁

I’ve seen much the same thing (on PC) but that’s been since the release of XCOM2: War of the Chosen; though, I’ve been playing a lot less as well (because of XCOM and now Divinity Original Sin 2)…

Doesn’t help that I don’t think KFT is anywhere near as good as an expansion as Un’Goro.
