Blizzard just posted patch notes for the 32.2.4 update launching today. It’s a mid-sized update with changes for Standard, Wild and Battlegrounds format, as well as some bug fixes. The patch was already teased yesterday, but we now have a full list of changes.
The patch also comes with a lot of Battlegrounds changes. The changes mostly target Murlocs, Elementals and Quilboar, as well as some specific stand-out cards from other minion types. The update also contains a lot of Trinket changes, mostly cost adjustments. I won’t list them all here, find them below!
As usual, the patch also comes with some smaller bug fixes and game improvements. You can check out the full patch notes here:
Patch 32.2.4, launching later today, brings a few bug fixes and balance changes to Standard, Wild, and Battlegrounds!
Hearthstone Updates
Dev Comment: In this first balance change after the Embers of the World Tree Mini-Set, we’re addressing power and play experience outliers, both in the mini-set and in the cards before it. These changes are primarily aimed at reducing the speed and prevalence of single-turn blow outs. We’re also buffing some of the deck archetypes that we want you to re-explore.
On the Wild side, we’ve also made some bans and card changes. Our philosophy with Wild is still that we will step in less often, only to address particularly egregious play experience and balance outliers, but will make impactful changes when we do. Standard cards that are banned in Wild are expected to be unbanned and adjusted when they rotate out of Standard.

Battleground Updates
Dev Comment: Overall, we’re very pleased with how Trinkets and our last balance patch have been performing. For this patch, we wanted to take a bit more of a focused, lighter touch. We’ve made a few adjustments to Murlocs, Elementals, and Quilboar, as well as some specific stand-out cards like Land Lubber and Fire-forged Evoker. For Trinkets, we focused primarily on cost adjustments and curating which trinkets can be offered as “pivot” options. As always, we’ll continue to monitor the game and your feedback and make further adjustments as needed.

I dislike the change to harbinger. Killing cards isn’t ideal, and from what I’ve heard it is “dead.” I would have made it read “after returning to hand can’t be played again this turn” (like lock effects we’ve seen before) or given it 4 mana cost but “costs 2 less after returning to your hand”. Then you can have an explosive board on 3/4 but not have it as expensive. I guess a final change could be buffing the drops summoned (w/ random effect, stealth, etc.) or their mana costs. Who knows, maybe it will find its way back into decks as-is.
