Hearthstone 32.2.1 Patch Notes – Battlegrounds & Arena Updates, Bug Fixes

A couple of days ago, Blizzard released a pretty hefty hotfix patch. I couldn’t cover it then because I was on a short break, but now that I’m back – here are the patch notes! Normally this kind of hotfix rolls out over a few hours, but at this point it should be live for everyone 🙂

The patch mostly focuses on Battlegrounds and Arena. We have a bunch of balance changes. In Arena, Reckless Apprentice has been banned from drafts and the appearance rate of some Imbue cards got reduced. In Battlegrounds, we’ve got some changes to Hero armor and A LOT of Trinket cost changes (based on their early performance).

On top of that, the patch contains a lot of bug fixes, mostly to Battlegrounds, but also to cards like Aspect's Embrace (it didn’t draw a card) and Corpse Explosion (sometimes it ended prematurely).

Check out the full patch notes here:

I feel like BGs is currently unplayable. At least if you try to improve and grow your gameplay. I really miss some vanilla time.

Because of Trinkets or just general imbalance?

I honestly quite like Trinkets as a concept, but for a semi-casual player (me) it’s a bit hard to keep up with them. Especially tracking what trinkets my opponents have (which might make a big difference in combat) is quite difficult. But we really need a bigger balance update in general, because minion types don’t seem very balanced right now.

I don’t think it’s unplayable, I like this season’s changes. There are of course few things which are not ideal – for exmaple Undead seem like they have some sort of cap which doesn’t usually let you win the lobby, because other tribes just outscale it during the last turns. This has been the same since last season I guess and the changes in this season doesn’t really do anything with it.
Dragons are quite bad now – but looks like everyone knows that and I’m expecting some buffs soon – mostly to the new 6-drop.
Murlocks are in weird spot now, but otherwise all the tribes seem pretty fun.
Besides the mentioned dragons buff I’m also expecting some nerf to quills (and potentionally beasts)
