Full Dust Refunds For SN1P-SN4P, Glinda Crowskin and Sound the Bells Available Until Tomorrow (December 19)

I’m sure that many of you know that already, but we’re posting this as a reminder. In the last Patch (December 5), Echo mechanic was nerfed. Echo cards can no longer be discounted below 1 mana – they stop there. In other words, you can no longer get a 0 mana Echo card. This was, obviously, an indirect nerf to Wild SN1P-SN4P Warlock. The deck is no longer working, which is – obviously – a good thing, given that it was really oppressive and made up for most of the Wild Legend meta.

Because of that, three cards that were affected most got a full Dust refund, which means that you can disenchant them for their crafting cost:

  • SN1P-SN4P – 1.6k for regular version (golden version is not disenchantable)
  • Glinda Crowskin – 1.6k for regular version, 3.2k for golden version
  • Sound the Bells! – 40 for regular version, 400 for golden version

Keep in mind that this only applies to Echo cards, cards saying “Repeatable this turn” are working just as they were previously!

This full Dust refund only lasts for 2 weeks after the patch, so until TOMORROW (December 19). If you still haven’t dusted one of them but you want to, remember to do it quickly!

I would recommend disenchanting all of those cards even if you might play them at one point in the future. Let’s say that a Legendary gets nerfed. You should just disenchant it and get 1.6k Dust. In case you decide to craft it again, you end up even in terms of Dust (e.g. you get 1.6k now and then spend 1.6k to craft it again) but you still have 1.6k Dust to work with right now, which you can spend on something that’s more useful. However, in case you never end up playing it, you just got 1.6k Dust for free (or 1.2k Dust if you would disenchant it at one point for normal gain). The only exception is that if you’re playing this card right now (which might be the case for SN1P-SN4P) – then there’s no point in dusting it just to craft it again tomorrow.

I have already dusted my Glinda, thanks. I have enough dust to keep the two regular bells for collection.

Yeah, regular Commons don’t give you that much Dust anyway. But I was lucky enough to have a golden version – 400 for a single golden Common!

Was there any viable way to discount Sound the Bells to 0? The only ways I could think of were Millhouse, double Generous Mummy from your opponent, or some Rogue burgle highroll that found double Apprentice plus Bells–none of which I could consider “viable”.

There was a way of mostly-guaranteeing Sorcerer’s Apprentice off of Zephrys. It required a bunch of conditions to be met, like having exactly 2 mana left over after playing Zephrys, being at high health (so you’re not offered healing options), your opponent being at high health (so you’re not offered burn spells), and the board being clear. So it was done at 10 mana, playing Wild Pyro + Equality + Zephrys to leave you at exactly 2 mana.

It’s something that could be pulled off consistently… assuming your opponent didn’t kill you first. After that, Apprentice + Faceless Manipulator = infinite Sound the Bells. It didn’t make for a competitive deck, but perhaps qualifies as viable for you.

There was a meme otk deck that run zephrys to find sorceters apprentice and later in the game when a minion stack they played sorcerers apprentice + faceless + infinite sound the bells to go face! If i remember well in order to get apprentice from zefrys you needed to play him on an empty board with two mana left and not very low on health! I don’t think anyone managed a good climb with it but it was real…

Anyone who started playing after Rise of the Mech event or took a break at that time. He was given out for free only between June 3 and July 1, so ~half year ago. So people who didn’t get it for free could open it in Boomsday packs or craft it later.

No way. No how. I’m not dusting those cards until April’s next installment. Regardless of free dust or not.
