Deck Import

This deck is from Blizzard’s Off-Meta Spotlight #5, here’s what they had to say about it:

Last on our list—but certainly not least—we have Zetalot with a Gilded Dragon Control deck. Zetalot, who’s earned a reputation as a guiding light for Priest players, piloted this deck to an impressive 66% win rate over 123 games. Nearly reaching the pinnacle of the EU ranked ladder, Zetalot’s list initially appears to be an unassuming dragon/control hybrid. However, opponents quickly discovered out that this deck hides a deadly finishing option. Using the Coin from the single Gilded Gargoyle to help set up the finishing combo, this Priest pilot can combine the spell-pumping power of Prophet Velen with the burst of double Mind Blast to deliver 20 damage in a single turn!

just dragged out a fucking 20 minute game vs a cubelock. Last 3 cards were mind blast x 2 and velen.

Dragonfire Potion is probably one of the strongest AoE’s out there right now. Maybe only Defile can top it, or Duskbreaker, because it adds a body to the board.

I would highly suggest crafting the card. I don’t think it’ll ever NOT see play.

They’re probably asking because the card rotates in about a month-ish time. Honestly WooT if you’re missing cards for this deck and you don’t want to use the dust so close to rotation then unfortunately the only good answer is that you should play something else. There’s nothing else in the Priest’s arsenal that is going to make up for not having double Dragonfire in this deck.

I actually completely forget about DP rotating out, my bad. I’m not crafting anything that’s rotating and as you said, better to not play this deck at all then.

Would someone who knows how to Play this mind uploading a small guide? Like with mulligan etc

Just play it like control and survive long enough to use your combo. Mulligan for your cheap minions and try to hold a low cost dragon, keep SW:Death vs Lock and Rogue, Duskbreaker vs aggro, etc.

Doesn’t it lack card draw, though?

It already has some draw with PW:shield and cleric, but more importantly it has card generation with drak op, netherspite, and shadow visions. Notably, shadow visions can help you find that extra mind blast to finish the combo and win the game.

Exactly. This deck should not have any trouble keeping your hand full, the trick is knowing what to discover. Vs paladin you just discover Duskbreaker, Duskbreaker, Duskbreaker

Just play it like freeze mage.
