Entomb is the newly released Priest card from League of Explorers. It’s a bit of a slow card, so it will be interesting to see if it will see play for the long haul.

Update: He has now added the newly released Museum Curator!

+2 Museum Curator,  +2 Acolyte of Pain, -1 Shrinkmeister, -2 Thoughtsteal, -1 Cabal Shadow Priest

I’ve been playing control priest for a while now following your deck and others and can’t seem to rank up past rank 10. I get rushed down too hard, is there anything you can advice/change to help out?

which wings do i need for LOE? Is it worth buying the wings just for this, or should i get the whole adventure? Maybe try dragon priest? But thats more expensive so I don’t know.

Entomb and Museum Curator requires the last wing, so technically u need to buy the whole adventure.

However, I think LOE is a worth buy “in general” as there are also some good staple cards almost for each class.

      Ultimately up to u!

how does this compare to dragon priest?

    • Evident - Author

Dragon Priest is more tempo based and is greatly benefited by playing on curve. This control priest is more reactive, and generally plays off of what your opponent is doing. It greatly depends on what kind of style you enjoy playing.

It’s not a troll deck..and it’s slow because it’s a Control Priest. Good luck finding a viable aggro priest.

Performs badley against all decks that arnt agro. Didn’t draw either entomb and played 7 games, played better with a boom instead of a flash heal

I’m playing a similar list right now with the following changes:
-2 Entomb +1 Shadow Word: Death
-1 Thoughtsteal +1 Shadow Word: Pain
-2 Flash Heal +2 Light of the Naaru
    +1 Ysera
I’m not a huge fan of Entomb. Yes it’s great against certain hard to deal with, large minions but I feel like that is too situational to justify running a 6 mana single minion kill spell. I’d prefer running cheaper removal that is more diverse, hence the extra Shadow Words. I haven’t considered Flash Heal. The only benefit I see over Naaru is the synergy with Auchenai Soulpriest. Naaru gets you value if you set it up properly, which isn’t hard to do. The Ysera is probably unnecessary but it’s more of a pet card. I’ve been considering cutting the Ysera and one Wild Pyromancer for a second Shrinkmeister and a second Shadow Word: Pain to maximize the synergy between the two, as well as having more cheap removal in general. I don’t see a lot of Shadow Word: Pain in any Priest lists which is so confusing to me. As a former Magic control player, cards that say “Kill things for two mana” are pretty good.

I saw this deck in asian servers before.

Anyways, Deathlord actually loses you games. There was a time it was a nice card. Now aggro decks destroy Deathlord and mid or control decks just laugh at him hoping to put in the table something big.

Entomb is a good card on paper. On the table playing a game is terrible. Too slow even for midrange decks.

This deck is only good against control decks. The others just destroy your black hole to the point you’ll die of bleeding from behind.

Saw Zeta playing it this afternoon and he went like 2-6 even changing things here and there.
Maybe then he got a good win streak… who knows.

What do you think of Convert ?

Convert + Entomb on turn 8 will give you 2 copy of that card

I have come up with a pretty good control priest (no drags) still in test mode but it’s doing amazing I switch cards in and out as I see their effectiveness so far I’m rank 2 on ladder I’m having issues with face decks as they don’t allow me to establish a board just yet I’ve made some changes to help but I feel when it’s ready I’ll be able to post a REAL control priest ( control warriors = easy win)

Why flash heal and not light of the naaru?

    • Sancho
      December 8, 2015 at 9:29 am

The deck is slower than a standard Priest so you may need that additional points of heal to keep yourself in the game. Against agro decks Light warden dies straight away in most cases.
Besides, it gives you a little extra kick/reach with Soulprist on the board and may also serve as a finisher.

Great deck. I’ve been running into a lot of control / dragon mirror matches, and the amount of salt this deck is causing my opponents is ridiculous! Still slightly struggles against Control Warrior (Control Priest’s arch nemesis), but makes the match 90% more winnable with the addition of Entomb.

Entomb is definitely the super star here, remove the big threats (something priest has struggled with a bit in the past) AND take them for your own.

My last match I used Thoughtsteal to take Nefarian from my opponent, Entombed Nefarian when my opponent played it, and then Entombed him a 2nd time when my opponent Mind Controlled one of the ones I played! Thats 3x Nefarian in one game (a card that isn’t even in my deck).

This is borderline trolling at this point.

    10/10 will play again

Lmao I love it!!!! Every Priest’s dream 🙂 I defeated a Control Warrior in fatigue after entombing his Dr. Boom and Grom which was then followed by a flash heal to avoid taking fatal fatigue damage :). I’m also LOVING Museum Curator; I’m consistently getting Dark Cultist, Sludge Belcher, Piloted Shredder, Sneed’s Old Shredder, Deathlord, and Sylvannas. Majordomo also deserves an honorable mention.

I wish Hearthstone Top Decks would feature a Dragon Priest Ladder Deck too. I like the Control Priest, but would like to see the other viable option.

      @RIngozwenY
nothing can really replace it. But until I get it, I am using horreb and voljin (I don’t use sw death).

        December 8, 2015 at 9:03 pm

As a priest player trust me want 2 sw death in there even with 2 entombs already in deck especially if you plan to play control style

Board control, again and again. Entomb the huge threat and the opponent will concead because you’ll burn all his win conditions.

To play this deck you really need to know the meta almost perfectly. You’ll need to keep particular response to all the deck that you would have possibly used earlier than necessary.

      • dEf
        December 9, 2015 at 3:08 am

With all this Reno decks you cannot be sure about meta or archetype of your oppenent!

    • Dervin Martinez
      December 8, 2015 at 1:09 pm

My guide is…don’t play this deck it sucks! Better off playing a classic control deck with one entomb, and not 2

    December 4, 2015 at 4:42 pm

Okay does Entomb kill the target?

    • Evident - Author
      December 4, 2015 at 5:41 pm

It removes it from the board, so Deathrattle effects don’t trigger.

    • Nat
      December 14, 2015 at 6:36 am

Nope, it removes the minion from your opponent’s board and shuffles it to your deck. It does not have to be a deathrattle minion, it can be any minion of your choice from your opponent’s board.

  25. Tom
    December 4, 2015 at 2:52 pm

The win condition? its a control preist , its meant to outlast your opponent until he has no threats and then you can easily win fatigue with Justicar. Also, the two entombs could win you the game since you’ll probably entomb a tirion or sylvanas (anything big).

    • lmao
      December 5, 2015 at 6:39 pm

this deck is slower than molasses and with entomb being 6 mana….warlocks stomp this shit. the deathlords lose you the fucking game is what it comes down too.

      • Cecor
        December 13, 2015 at 8:43 pm

Deathlords usually will last with a priest to at least turn 5 or 6, and with entomb in hand you could easily have just given yourself something nice without it triggering anything special for them like any amazing thing with battlecry.

  26. WUBWUB
    December 4, 2015 at 1:06 pm

I would remove one wild pyromancer and replace it with another shadow word death, if you want entomb to be useful it might be just until late.

  27. Hemot
    December 4, 2015 at 11:52 am
