Care to share, I'm obviously a bit thick not sure what the plan is with this deck?

The deck became around Emperor Thaurissan, It helps lower the cost of every card on your hand by 1 each turn, this means you can play cards one turn earlier (extra turn). In this case that "extra turn" will allow you to make the combo, like the quest allowed you to do.
