The goal is to use Shadow of Death and Potion of Illusion combined with Preparation to copy Waxadred, Crimson Hothead, and/or an opponent’s minion; Then use card draw and Stowaway to place copies from your deck directly onto the board.
Primary differences from other Waxadred decks:
– Rocket Augmerchant: Early and Late game board control.
– Crimson Hothead: Copy target and acts as 2 extra dragons for triggering Candle Breath’s condition.
– Potion of Illusion: Supplements Shadow of Death and allows for repeat use of battlecry minions. Tech choices were chosen based on how they interacted with this card.
– Essentially, it’s Waxadred Shuffle Rogue but updated to make it work for the Scholomance expansion.
Big Ol’ Welp might be added in the future if the current dragon count proves to be not enough, but preparation tends to balance this out.
Note that Cast When Drawn effects do not trigger when the card is drawn by Secret Passage.
The weakest point of this deck right now is Dirty Tricks, although it is dependent on what where you are on the ladder. I’m open to suggestions if anyone has any.
